Damn. That's not encouraging. I am all for players getting compensated but this eternal free agency needs to end. Congress must give college sports an antitrust exemption.

This puts us at 86 scholarships, not counting incoming portal guys. While this sounds ideal, theres no way we have only have two guys that hit the portal. In this new world of cfb, several guys will be hitting the portal in the offseason to try and get a pay raise. I could see several of our guys doing that to see what there market value is, especcially if Tennessee comes in with a low NIL offer. Similar to how Rickey Gibson entered the portal last offseason but decided to stay. This could be the most impactful offseason in the Heupel era.

Of course we won't just have 2 guys hit the portal. Which is why I said the exact opposite of that in the post you're replying to.

We’re getting CB help from the HS ranks.
JT Theodore is another Jermond McCoy imo. Wouldn’t be against a solid TP Cornerback tho

And then we still have the 2025 guys going into their 2nd season. Lewis, Merritt and Poteat should all make an impact next season.

But DT absolutely is a need. Let’s get Thomas from JUCO and another guy from the transfer portal. Minimum. Our 2025 guys are good, but they’ll still be only sophomores in 2026. You can get away with that at CB but not DT
