If Kamara truly is the real deal, could we see a battle for started between he and Hurd? I ask out of both excitement and because I haven't seen a ton of video of him.

I feel like we need two defensive depth charts, one with the standard 4-3-4 and another with the nickel 4-2-5. Nickel has Maggitt at DE, 4-3 has him at OLB.

Also, I think Manny Moseley will play mostly outside CB, he seems too thin to deliver the hits playing nickel CB.

Don't sleep on Gavin Bryant at MLB, he RS'ed last year, and although I think Kirkland is talented, I dunno about a true freshman stepping in immediately in that role.

I think we'll have a pretty mean 2-deep on the DL, provided Shy and Khalil get acclimated quickly to the college game (oh who am I kidding) I'm friggin' pumped about our 2-deep at DL.

Starting to worry a little about WR depth with both Wharton and Jenkins on the outs.. hopefully we don't have any of the injury issues that plagued us for the last half of this season.

OL on paper looks way upgraded. Hopefully Blair will be in shape headed to camp this year, and maybe Richmond can get some valuable snaps and contribute at LT. Jack Jones I've heard is also impressive, being an EE should help him get looks at RT early. Seal off those DE's and Hurd and Kamara will turn those corners hard.

We're getting there, guys and gals. One more class like this, and the sky's the limit.

I am really looking forward to seeing what a JR Dobbs, Hurd, Kamara, and a healthy WR core can do behind a competent O-line.

no he wasn't. you guys pumping up smith need to stop it. north and pearson were our top receivers and malone is the next up. smith is just a complimentary piece.

When Smith is healthy he is on of our best receivers. He just has a knack for getting separation which is something Malone lacks. If Malone doesn't get better at route running this offseason he will be passed quickly.

In 3 games Josh Smith had: 10 catches for 135 yards.

In 13 games Josh Malone had: 23 catches for 231 yards.

However, we'll see if the 2nd Josh fights off the case of dropititis like the 1st Josh did.

Otherwise, Josh Smith's talent and consistency are undeniable. A starting rotation of North/Pearson outside and Josh Smith or Pig Howard inside is pretty stout.

Another point:

Our staff want a healthy rotation at WR. North is really the only WR we have that will be in on every play. He runs, catches and blocks well.

Croom, Pearson, Malone, Howard, Smith, Johnson will all see ample playing time.

Lot of talent

Offense

QB- Josh Dobbs / S Jones
RB- Jalen Hurd / Alvin Kamara
WR- Marquez North / J Croom/ Preston Williams
WR- Pig Howard / Josh Smith
WR- Von Pearson / Josh Malone
TE- Ethan Wolf / Alex Ellis
OT- Kerbyson/ Kendrick
OG- Robertson / Dylan Wiesman
C- Mack Crowder / Kyler Kerbyson
OG- Marcus Jackson / Kyler Kerbyson
OT- Drew Richmond / Blair

Defense

DE- Derek Barnett / Kyle Phillips
DE- Curt Maggit / Corey Vareen
DT- Kahlil Mckenzie / Danny O'Brien
DT- Owen Williams / Shy Tuttle
LB- Dillion Bates / Cortez McDowell
LB- Darrin Kirkland Jr /Kenny Bynum
LB- Jalen Reeves-Maybin / Chris Weatherd
CB- Cam Sutton / Justin Martin
CB- Emmanuel Moseley / Michael Williams (very little chance he returns regardless of the legal outcome)
SS- Brian Randolph / Todd kelly Jr.
FS- LaDarrell McNeil / Evan Berry

Changes in bold IMO. I am less certain about D... and less certain it matters. They'll have very good talent and decent depth of talent. Some of the secondary depth will come from Fr. Gaulden will have a significant role- probably at CB.

Not according to Azzani. Heard him on radio today that he was arguably the most talented WR he has and that if he continues to work he can plan in the NFL. Tifwiw.

Btw, I love both North and Pearson and believe they SHOULD be our most productive WRs this year. Also hope the light comes on for Malone because he's arguably the most physically gifted.

Kerbyson cannot play OT IMO, he's a guard. I would project Austin Sanders at OT before Kerbyson. And since we're just projecting at this point, I'll take Blair at LT until he shows he can't do it, with Richmond/Sanders/Jones most likely to win the job at RT.

Look for richmond or jones at RT. Also Kerbyson is a very good guard and will add depth or start at either guard. Feel very good about the team and not having to play as many true freshmen.

Randolph plays FS not SS and Randolph will start.

If Kerbie starts at LT we are in trouble big time....he is out of position at RT but serviceable there...better suited for guard. If Blair isn't ready to play LT we are in trouble, Kendrick might be the LT until Jones/Richmond/Boulware are available with Kerbie at RT.

S. Jones should be almost an automatic RS with Dormady and Jennings both being EE's.

WR - North/Malone/Williams
WR - Pearson/Croom
WR - Pig/Smith/Johnson/Perry
Smith can play outside and Pearson can rotate inside.
Williams is recovering from a pretty bad knee injury, hope he can regain his previous speed by fall.

Nickel - Gaulden is the front runner heading into spring.

LBer's in 4-3 JRM, Bates (MLB), Maggit with McDowell, Kirkland, Weatherd, Bryant, Bynum available
LBer's in Nickel - JRM and Bates
On Kirkland, he has a torn pectoral muscle and will miss all of spring practice last I heard so I wouldn't count on him starting this season at MLB.

CB - Eman and Martin will be a nice battle to watch - Martin is an ELITE talent with 3 years to play 3....Eman adds some weight this offseason with his speed and we have a good problem with 3 (Sutton) extremely talented CB's.

Looking forward to seeing how McNeil/TKjr are both utilized. Seeing who grabs the Nickel spot and how Bates plays at MLB this spring.

I have a feeling that both Malone and Croom are going to breakout next season.

As long as they all stay healthy we'll have a awesome WR rotation.

Blair was a juco. You can best believe this staff would not have him on the roster for #119 if he was not doing as they required to be ready. He will be a serviceable LT if not better just based on how CBJ has been running his business. In case any of you have missed it Butch is showing you can either get with the program or get on I-40 and head out.

There is going to be some competition in the Spring and Summer for sure. It will be interesting to see who plays more - Martin and Moseley. If LBs and OL get worked out and produce this team will be tough to beat.

Only 4 of the starting 22 are ol'Dools players. Now that Butch is getting his players its now time for him to step up and coach em up. We have so many possibilities with this team. We could go 7-5 or we could go 10-2 and everywhere in between. I am happy with 8-4 or above in the regular season. 7-5 would irk me but i don't think i would start a Fire Butch campaign. Hoping for a good year

I really think your wrong here. Josh Smith and North were far and away the best we had before they went down. Josh made a couple of incredible sideline catches and I think he was the leading receiver before he tore up his ankle.

Agree on the Smith front, I think he is our fastest guy at the position.
