It it pretty easy to dodge and block shots or is it all offense? Are the controls similar to Fight Night?

Got to try it out today; a few thoughts:

Super impressed with the look of it, the realism and damage models are incredible.

Controls are tight but not spammy; although I'm disappointed that they didn't incorporate the analog head weaves and blocks from the fight night series. Blocks and parrys feel a bit canned here.

Surprised there doesn't appear to be a damage modifier with consequences for failed attempts. The finess/skill moves look impressive and a really hard to pull off in real life. But seem to do the same damage as normal moves.

Flash knockouts seem completely random

I just don't think boxing/fighting games translate well, if you want to have anything near a sim.

Especially with no sliders. I understand wanting to cater to the casual fans who just want to stand up, but there should at least be a sim mode.

The major complaints so far: AI is way too aggressive, too arcadey and stamina is almost a non factor especially for the computer.

I may still pick this up but who knows.

anyone else playing this?? Been having a blast with it. It's got some flaws, sure, but it's still fun to rock chumps online with a flying knee to the face.

I have it on Xbox One and like it. Stop playing it because the lag OFFLINE was getting ridiculous. That is not good for a fighting game. Overall I am enjoying it. They set a good foundation for the next one.

One thing that drives me crazy about career mode is the cheap ass "feature" fights - when you have to fight someone with a specific combat theme like "submissions" or "ground and pound".

The game deliberately sets you up to fail in certain areas all to try to tell some complete story about being a UFC fighter that really doesn't exist.

that's too bad - i still find it loads of fun; even while dealing with the dumpster fire that is EA Game Face
