2Ks proposal was much different than EAs proposal. 2K won’t release a standalone game with all teams. Their original proposal was including some teams in the MyTeam mode of nba 2K with the potential of adding more in future additions based on downloads. I heard that they altered the proposal to a standalone game featuring a limited number of teams I think around 60, but I’m not positive on that.

I mean if we can get a legitimate college hoops again I won’t be mad, their game was certinly better than EAs march madness series. But that was nearly 20 years ago.
