In about eight months or so, Duke Crews went from a mid-major guy to one headed to the SEC.
Duke Crews is headed to Tennessee.
The 6-foot-7, 225-pound senior power forward at Bethel (Va.) High, confirmed the news when reached on Monday afternoon but did not want to comment until he reached all the schools he was considering.
Numerous sources close to the situation told Scout.com that Crews had chosen the Vols.
``I just havent announced it yet, Crews said.
Crews also considered Georgetown and Wake Forest.
Crews burst onto the scene in the spring and went from a mid-major target to one of the most highly sough-after players in the nation. He currently occupies the No. 36 spot on Scout.coms national rankings and plays much bigger than his size.
North Carolina was also in the mix until recently when they landed a trio of frontline commitments from Deon Thompson, Alex Stepheson and Brandan Wright.
Crews joins big man Wayne Chism and guard Marques Johnson as Tennessee commitments in the Class of 2006.
