It seems our competition for Duke Crews is going to be Georgetown and Wake Forest. North Carolina has added two top notch forwards and would appear to be less inclined to recruit Crews.

Yes, he visited UT and he loved it. He is a great kid and loves Bruce Pearl and the rest of the staff at UT. Pearl has done an amazing job to get into the picture with this kid. I'm wishing UT the best of luck because they seriously have a legit chance with him.

It's also been reported that Jeremy Williams will choose between Tennessee and Colorado tomorrow. This would be a nice battle to win because the last thing we need is for Ricardo Patton to build on his connections in Memphis. He's been able to get marginal players, but Williams would represent an upgrade in quality over previous recruits.

Probably not going to be pretty this year, but I do think help is on the way.

I have talked to one of the Assistant Coaches and they are pretty optimistic it will be better, to at least watch, than last year.

I have no doubt it will be better. The lack of depth up front is going to make for some long nights, however.

Crews has elimanted UNC. Seems the favorite left is Wake Forest.

You think so? With Macklin going to G'town and the long line of players from the area who have made the treck to DC, I think JTIII is the coach we have to beat.

Crews has completed all his visit and said to expect an announcment by next weekend.

I think he's an ACC boy and will go to Wake and if not he'll come to UT

Can't confirm or deny an official visit to Wake. He has taken his official visits to Tennessee and G'town. My guess is he hasn't visited Wake yet.

I like our chances even better. My main concern is that his AAU coach, Boo Williams, has a history of being cozy with G'town. That, coupled with his friend Vernon Macklin heading to DC, gives me cause for pause.

I do not think his friend being at GU is going to come into play that heavily. From all the interviews I have seen with him he is way to intelligent to make one of the biggest decisions of his life based just on the fact that he wants to play with one of his friends. GU is still a major factor though because they are building back up to being a good program again. I honestly think the only thing Wake has going for them is that they are in the ACC. That being said, being in the ACC is a major factor.
