Dubar sighting?

Earlier it was posted CRB requires 5 str8 practices before any game time minutes. If he doesn’t see minutes this week it’s worry time.
I would like to see him contribute. That being said, I'm fine with the current group. Would be great if he could hang in there and provide more quality depth

Believe you going see Dubar contribute more you think… he was even projected by some to possible start , not sure who he would replace . Yeah love our lineup as for now. I can see him helping us out depth wise possible logging around 10 minutes game. He can really shoot it once gets In to Rhythm

Hate to say it, but after the first game I kind of forgot about him until the issue resurfaced

This is his 5th year and basically his covid year so wouldn't he have to take a medical meaning he'd have to justify a season-ending injury? Not sure how that works. He played 16 or more games 4 years In a row. If he has NBA aspirations its pretty much now or never unless he has a DK type season. If he stays another years he'd be entering his draft year going on 25. Thats a huge deal in the NBA. I feel like they will work him in and find his role... Lanier and Gainey haven't looked bad but Dubar would give the team some much needed depth and flexibility at the 2-4 this year

Did he ever play the 2 at Hofstra? With our roster I don’t see a need for him at the 2 IMO

Got MaShack. But if Carr is out, its just Gainey really. Although, CRB has gone w ZZ and Boz a few times already, if Dubar shows any of what he’s done he’s worth a look there at times. Imo

Edit. Don’t think it’s a spot they want Igor playing.

Agree. Does Boswell catching on and getting minutes surprise you? I know we all should love it, but didn’t see anybody projecting it before the season.
We’ll see how long it sticks, given our injuries and depth concerns not a crazy surprise. He’s also a plus defender as a freshman so we all know that helps get you on the floor with Barnes as well.

At the 2 we have Lanier and Gainey..nothing else. If one or both of them are hurt we are hurting badly playing Boswell, Mashack (not shooters perse) or a walkon. Maybe Carr? As far as positional Flexibility wings is what UT has always drowned in. Mostly 3/4 tweeners. ZZ is a PG Boswell seems more PG than 2. Mashack can defend 1-4 if it comes down to it but he's a wing on offense. Milicic does make things interesting as he seems more and more like a unicorn stretchy 4/5 who can do a bit of banging. Thus far he is the big win from the portal. if Gainey and Lanier are healthy all year 0 worries but Dubar is probably the most flexible 2-way positional player we have. He can be that swiss army knife that JJJ had always been. At least that's how he looked on tape or am I wrong? If he can be 70% of what JJJ was he is worth the scholly.

You appear to view Dunbar as a guy who can be successful at the 2 yet he didn’t play the 2 at Hofstra. You compare him to JJJ who also didn’t play the 2. Our 2 is as deep as any position we have so trying to force a stretch 4 there doesn’t make much sense.

Also, we don’t get these portal guys for just the price of a scholarship. It’s a NIL bidding contest and it appears Dunbar is proving to be a failed investment.

Hey let’s wait to he sees the court, which should be this week…. Before we say he a failed investment. I don’t think he will be

I do wonder if the staff is having any regrets leaving 2 scholarships open. I know hindsight is 20/20 and we stayed fairly healthy last year, but we were bound to get bit by the injury bug this year at some point. Concerning that it’s happened this early, but hopefully it’s nothing too long term. Particularly the Carr injury. It looked like he was finally flashing his talent these past few games, and I’d hate to see him miss significant time right as it was clicking some for him.

With Estrella out Milicic will likely be forced to play some 5, like he did yesterday…with Carr also expected to miss some time we are effectively down to 9 scholarship players and Boswell is a guard. Either we will be playing 7 guys nearly 30 minutes a game or Dubar will have to start contributing.
Carr has a wrist injury, I assume?

Yeah and CRB isn't against playing freshman if they actually play defense, especially guards even if they weren't 5 stars like Chandler, Springer, Keon, and JJJ.

If my memory is correct... ZZ, Santi, and Bone were all rated about where Boswell is, or below and they all got some pretty major minutes.

First off his name is Dubar not Dunbar.. maybe you are thinking of another person and that's causing the confusion? Second off I am merely saying he can add more position versatility than we have now. Would you rather him or Mashack playing the 2 if we lose Gainey or Lanier. Or maybe Phillips or Estrella? The Hofstra teams he played on were very guard-heavy so of course he was playing 3-4
