Dual threat...

Seems like I keep seeing all the other qbs taking off and running up and down the field. My memories of JG is seeing him going to the ground multiple times. Not always his fault I know, but still...

I know. I really think he has some reservations from being hit so much. And he hasnt looked the same since his injury either. But as for the real reason he doesnt run more, I have no real idea.

The idea that a qb is so scared of being hit that he refuses to run and then deliberately takes a big hit standing is ridiculous. It's counterintuitive.

When pass protection breaks down, which it is a given that this will happen on every play for us right now, you need a quarterback who can either get the ball out of their hands very very quickly or extend the play with his legs by running. JG has demonstrated that he's incapable of doing either. Instead, he just stands there and times the throw with the impending hit.

That's why his stats may look nice out of context but he can't sustain drives and score touchdowns when the game is on the line. The word is out on him, and every defense we play is going to pin their ears back and come after him with everything they have. Until he rolls out or scrambles and gives them something to worry about, there's nothing to stop them.

Dobbs overcame poor pass protection with his legs, and it gave us a fighting chance. JG can't do that.

C'mon man he entered the NFL and had no clue how to take a snap from center. Get out of here with that mess. He was a tight end masquerading as a college QB. UF and he had the very good fortune of having a wonderful cast of playmakers around him bailing his average arm and accuracy out. The guy was as fierce a competitor in college football as we will likely ever see, GOAT as college QB? Get out of here with that mess, he wouldn't make my top 15.
You do realize he said College QB, right? His pro results mean nothing. There are many QBs that were nigh unstoppable in college, but fell on their face in college.

Can you make a dent in the SEC if you don't have a quarterback who can run to get at least 5 yds? Say what you will about Tebow, but he could fall down from a standing position and get 5 yds. A 3rd and 2 or 3 just tears us apart. It's always get the punter ready. Did you see Tua? He was hurt and still ran for a touchdown! Why can't our qbs be ready to run? Mix it up, do something different. We are destined to be bottom dwellers unless we have an answer for those things. I know I am simplifying it too much but we seem to miss the simple things that keep your KYs, SCs and Missouris going strong.

Lock, Mizzou's QB isn't dual threat, his line just blocks for him.

if your O-line isn't the best, then a DT QB helps...actually a good DT QB helps all the time...:D

GO VOLS!

When Dobbs was here, he got drif through the mud too. Saying he was inaccurate, couldn't read a defense, stares down WR's, etc. Sounds like every An we have starting gets the same treatment.

We really missed out big on Adrian Martinez. The kid is balling out at Nebraska
If Frost had stayed at UCF I think Martinez would have still flipped. They connected.
