DT depth

We've got a solid 5 man rotation there, plus they will move some of the DE's inside in obviou passing situations.

Mosley can't play DT at the college level.

Our depth is better than it has been in years.. We have 5 /6 SEC players

I know we joke about him, but if Bain is good enough to even play mop-up duty at DT, he will be a huge asset for the team. Because if the season unfolds as it should, more than half of our games will be effectively over by the middle of the 3rd quarter.

That's only in the circle of life drills. Much more to playing the position. He'll be depth behind Wiesman, Robertson, Jones and likely Boulware.

Vickers. Maybe the most underrated player on the roster.

Played some DT as a freshman. If we end up having to move a DE inside, I'd say he and Phillips are two guys to watch.

Granted, it sounds like Shoop plans on sliding DEs like Barnett inside occasionally on passing downs anyway, so maybe he'll strike up a balance where we don't have to make any DEs change positions so much as move them around in pass rushing situations.

Granted, it sounds like Shoop plans on sliding DEs like Barnett inside occasionally on passing downs anyway, so maybe he'll strike up a balance where we don't have to make any DEs change positions so much as move them around in pass rushing situations.

But he lost a lot of weight, slimmed down and backed up Barnett at DE last year. I guess he could slide down, but he's 255 lbs and not a true DT. And, unless it's a particular hybrid scheme designed by Shoop for specific looks from an opposing offense, if we're having to slide an undersized DE down to DT out of necessity, doesn't that speak to our lack of DT depth?

Mixon and Verena may be the guys that are flying under the radar and make a big impact for us. Seems like there's always 1 or 2 guys that do that. If that happens it's going to ease some pressure off those DTs.

mckenzie tuttle o brien vickers are all prven guys to rely on. after them besides picou i dont see much. johnson im writing off as gone at this point

well the list may be thin,but it isn't as thin as it has been,which is a good thing

The big DEs will get moved in on 3rd and long. Kongbo (275+), Barnett, Phillips will all see some snaps there.

We can't afford major injury here though.
