Don’t you know you’re suppose to enjoy that 💩 sandwich and not complain that it has been tasting like 💩 for a long time? 😂
Nobody said they are enjoying losing. The original person I was responding to said he was tired of supporting them. I didn't say I like losing, I said I see that one game does not define my viewpoint and cause me to jump off the cliff.

Matter of a couple plays..I realize we got destroyed but if right before the half they call that penalty on illegal hit to the head..then to start the second half we had them 3rd and 7 or so and miss a tackle then It’s off to the races ..woulda been a 3 and out and 10 to 7 game..all be it we still have a **** ton of overrated players ..KONGbo sux

JG showed something today that I’d not seen before. He can make the throws. I was surprised at how little Calloway or Jennings was targeted. I want to throw to those guys as much as I can because they’re game-changers. Put it up and let em go get it.

I've got to disagree here. JG has improved tremendously. Offense looks better too. Once we get a few hiccups worked out in the O line we are golden. Or should I say Oranged.

Now defense on the other hand looked much worse. Looked like a complete dumpster fire.

We are going to need help from a higher power to turn that D around this season.

The defense played undisplined a lot. We are not good at breaking down and making open field tackles. We take flat angles on a lot of boundary plays. Having said all that there were several guys on that field that were playing there first college game ever or first game in over a year. Throw on top 2 All American receivers and NFL caliber QB and that’s is recipe for an ***whipping . Coach said in his presser he put us in some bad coverages which he owned up to.

Is this going to be another year of moaning and whining? It was painful following comments along with the game. For a second there, I thought some were ready to run Pruitt out of town.

With the way a lot of internet Tennessee fans are that will be happening pretty soon:rolleyes:

I get where you’re coming from but, what did we know coming in to this game? (1) Will Grier is a high level quarterback. (2) WVU has NFL caliber wide receivers. (3) Our offense and defense need some work. (4) With a new head coach and new assistants all over the place, we were going to be a work in progress. All of these things proved to be true tonight. What I liked, though, is that there were some bright spots. I do think the weather delay played in their favor though.

Its going to be a long year not alot of wins on this schedule . This team lacks players period and no depth and who knows if these coaches are worth anything . So just find another team if you want wins this year and next year will not be much better its sad .

I don't care what our record is. I live for Tennessee football (unhealthy I know), but I will support this team till they put me in the ground. Knowing that some of y'all have the same mentality makes things more tolerable

We’re coming off a 4-8 season with absolutely no coaching against an experienced air raid offense with a great QB/WR corps while having freshman DB’s. Yes, the game sucked but don’t throw the baby out with the bath water.
Don't waste perfectly good bath water.

I have learned something over my years here at VN: Never comment during the game and don't read other comments during the game.

One thing i was yelling at the tv today was.. we still do not have DBs that turn around and look for the ball. The ball wizzed right past some heads today. I realize they are young in the backfield but geez, turn around and maybe we could get some interceptions.... JG looked good today. He was throwing some darts, but our OL looked like they had black cement shoes on.

Today was tough but couldn't have been unexpected. We all hoped that the problems were as simple as flipping a switch and turning on the talent we all presumed was there, just poorly coached. Few 4-8 teams turn into immediate winners, especially in the SEC.

That being said there seemed to be cause for optimism. Usually Tennessee teams over the last ten years have struggled with details and discipline--lots of critical penalties, turnovers, and dropped passes. These are usually magnified on during Game 1. Today seemed relatively smooth and Tennessee just got outplayed by a better and more experienced football team. All we can do is tip our hat and hope in three weeks when we see Florida that we are better.

A lot of common sense VoL fans knew it too.
Those who thought we might win 8 games or more are the ones who got slapped by reality today
Exactly, wave a magic wand and turn last years 4-8 team into a playoff team in 6 months seems like what many expect on here. It ain’t gonna happen

apparently everyone can come back to reality. I consider myself a fan but after reading some of the pregame comments about waking at 3:30 am because of excitement, shows I’m not nearly as big a fan as some of you.
I actually thought TN would win this game but this was based on how little I actually knew about UWV. Like Grier or not, he is one of the top QBs in the country. Has the ability to read a defense pre-snap, make quick reads, and a great arm. There are usually 1 or 2 qbs a year like him. Baker Mayfield comes to mind. He is not a system only player. Swap him for JG and we probably do the same to them.
I had thought 8-4 for the year. Hard to tell much from this game but I still think talent is pretty good. Give WVU credit. Don’t trash the Vols.
My biggest disappointment was not giving up 40 pts but only scoring 14 and 7coming on a 4th down play. For having such a high % of completions last year and today, they just do not score very much.

I'm going to be the one to say it, It would help if we would stop with the revolving door at head coach. I'm not saying we should've kept Dooley or Butch those hires NEVER should've been made, Pruitt will get us where we want to be if given the time but there's already been negativity thrown toward him by some. I'm not happy with how the game went either and was hopeful that this could be a good season but that was an unfair hope. I still believe this team can get better as the season goes it just may be rough the first half of it.

I expected a 6-6 season at the best, but for us to show improvement each week, even in a loss. We didn't show any improvement over last season.

I thought 6 wins too. The defense looks pretty rough though.
