Drug testing across SEC

I agree PED's should be tested for and those who come up positive should be held accountable and punished. Having said that, if we are going to test and punish people for smokin a little weed then we should do the same for alcohol, nicotine, "legal" narcotics and other mind altering substances. That's actually one thing the federal government gets right, they don't drug test as a requirement for employment. I know electrical, mechanical, and nuclear engineers as well as doctors, lawyers and law enforcement personnel who smoke weed everyday and do fine on the job. Personally I have a medical condition which has led me to countless doctors, specialists and pharmaceuticals and none of those have come close to helping me as well as 2 puffs off of some good medical Marijuana. Yes I said medical Marijuana because contrary to what many martini drinking cigar smoking holier than thou's tell you, Marijuana does have multiple proven medical benefits. In addition I've had multiple family members and friends die from alcohol and legal drug abuse. To my knowledge I haven't heard of 1 person dying of Marijuana abuse and most every bad decision I've made has been a result of alcohol abuse

Maybe if you get diabetes from raiding the fridge too much.

Like I said it has many medical benefits. Had a dear friend who died at age 20 of colon cancer. Before cancer struck he believed mj was the devil after chemo and radiation treatment he became a daily smoker because that's the only way he could stomach any food

I said it because you seemed to be defending it. Personally, I feel like marijuana is one of the worst things out there because so many act like it's harmless.

Spoken like someone who has never smoked it.

Fact: Marijuana causes less health problems AND is less addictive than alcohol, tobacco, and prescription pills. And its not even close.

Well hell, everybody should start smoking it. Sounds like its damn near good for us.

A lot less war would be happening and people would be more mellow. Frito Lay stock would hit new highs.

The pot debate always cracks me up.

I personally couldn't care less about it being legal or not. I've smoked it, but don't because I don't like the effect is has on me 9 out 10 times.

Just seems there is no middle ground in the argument. Its either the devil or its absolutely harmless.

Ironically, the Frito Lay guy came into the lumber yard I work at.

Honestly, the LAST thing that a corrupt and unorganized mess of an operation like the NCAA needs is another rule to govern. Based on their recent track record I'd be more comfortable with the SEC stepping in to enforce uniform testing and uniform disciplinary guidelines.

I agree with the NCAA/SEC being corrupt, to me all of this is one big racketing scheme. With that said, I think I might have a different opinion as to why though.

I guess I just don't understand why they are testing students at school, what is the purpose... they don't go and test all the other students. Hopefully without derailing further... I would say they are testing their employees, they just don't want to call them their employees.

Pro sports are strange, but college sports and what they are allowed to get away with is beyond bizarre. imo

I have chronic neck pain from cervical damage, surgery, etc.. I've smoked dope (haven't in 7 yrs), taken opioids, tried about everything.. Luckily I've been able to better manage pain by altering my diet, getting in better shape and strengthening my core.. I don't smoke now mainly because of my job.. I do electrical engineering/design and because of being certified to go underground (mining industry) I'm subjected to 'more than just random' drug screens.

All that being said, if I had the choice legally, I'd MUCH rather smoke dope than take prescription meds any day..

it isn't pot that is the gateway ,it is the dealers saying Hey Man you gotta try this, as in pills, cocaine and other stuff

which is why they need to take away the market from the dealers by making it legal to buy it just like alcohol or cigarettes. Heck, create incentives to grow it for farmers. Tax it and pay off some debt.
i been wanted to get a new John Deere and looking for something to do in retirement. I can see it now....become a wacky tobaccy farmer....open a healthy frito lay joint next to the farm...what a country...put me in coach...I'm ready to play:pepper:

Which is why its not legal. Cause it cant be regulated and taxed like cigerettes and alcohol. Those two go through an extensive process that allows them to be consumed. MJ does not.

First it's weed, then coke, then molly, then shrooms, than K, then acid, then lord knows. Weed is always the igniter.

You know that happens to about 10% of people? You really know as much about this subject as you do about football which is nothing.

Cocaine, crank, meth, ampetimines and most illegal drugs are considered PEDs.

HGH should be completly legal.

Correct. And none of them (cocaine, meth, etc) should be permitted. HGH should be heavily restricted for injury healing use only (if that course of treatment is in the best interest of the athlete). It should be on a prescribed program filed with the NCAA for approval. After the program has ended, the athlete should be held out of competition for a period of time, maybe a month.

Legal / illegal - I really don't care very much, but I think certain states are doing ok regulating and taxing MJ.

Is the production process really that much less complicated than brewing beer or rolling tobacco? Honestly asking, I have limited areas of expertise and this certainly is not one of those areas.
