Police don't believe the students dealt the drug on campus.

I would think that they would be dealing on campus. Just guessing.

Clearly these are good kids trying to practice their chemistry. What dedication! They were probably trying to come up with a cure for cancer on their own and the byproduct just happened to be a close cousing of LSD. That could happen to anyone...:whistling:

I hate that if you get busted outside of Knoxville, the UT officials have the right to search your room.

That's kind of vague. I take it to mean that they found the drug making paraphenalia (sp), and the kids admitted then that they were making it.
