Droppin dimes on goalposts now?

Is the goal to hit the post, or throw it through the upright? Either way, it seems he has a strong arm, I don't think anyone would have ever said "he didn't." So for me, I don't see the relevance of this video?! Playing around vs game time are two different animals. I remember watching him throw the football in a trash can from many yards away.....that was before he committed to TN.
Yes the goal is to hit the cross bar. I’ve seen it done from 50 before but never from 70. Evidently several have seen others do it from their knees though.

He’s got a bit of over confidence in his arm for sure. Yes, I believe he can make every throw but he tries to fit the ball in windows that are nearly shut and tinted.

Then there’s learning how to slide...
He def has the arm talent but he also throws off balance or almost looks like a fade away sometimes. If hed get a little more comfortable and confident back there and learn to set his feet and step up into the pocket he would really light it up. Watch his feet in the GA game (Also watch the million drops our wrs had)

Some of you impress me with your ability to find the negative in anything. The guy clearly has an arm strong enough to make all the throws. Sure he needs to improve his decision making but he was a freshman playing with limited reps in practice.

I heard from a player that Shuler threw it from the 50 and just made the endzone or right at it from one knee. Never heard he hit the goal post from one knee like some other poster who said he seen it.
50 yards from one knee is all arm good for him , he was a hoss.

Absolutely, that’s impressive as well if you get to see it in person or via video but still don’t doubt it a bit. I’ve seen it done from 50 -55 but honestly never seen it done from 70 with the accuracy to hit the middle of the post.

Used to be a trick shot years ago.

If the kid would stop being so reckless he could be really good.

Agreed. Maurer is my favorite QB on our roster right now, of course considering we’ve seen nothing from HB yet. Maurer almost needs to just calm down some and when he runs he’s gotta use more awareness. I like his aggressive style but take what they give you. No need to go flipping in the air at the 30 yard line. Get down. And on throws, he’s placed some beautiful balls (opening throw to DWA against maybe Bama???) but then he’s done the “eff it” throws 8 or 9 times and it’s either been intercepted easily or should’ve been.

To be honest, I’m more surprised people aren’t using this video to rip on JG

Yeah his throwing motion always reminds me of Tyler Bray. Kinda off his back foot.
