How many dropped passes were there in the game, can anyone tell me?
I know Crompton was off as usual, but I believe a SEC receiver should catch any ball they can get there hands on. When the receivers started catching the ball our offense became effective.

I agree they sucked. But they haven't really had a QB that's making them better either. It's hard to improve when you really don't expect to ever get a catchable ball. However, if I was one of them and a ball got anywhere near me I would take advantage of it and snatch that rare bird out of the air.

according to many here there were no dropped passes just a lot of bad throws by Crompton

Does bouncing a ball off of a receiver's helmet count as a drop?

:eek:lol: :eek:lol: :eek:lol:

The one before that hit him right in the numbers.. What got me was when he turned around and looked at Crompton like

"What the ____, why did you throw it to me?" :whatever:

I can't imagine how much fun it is for our receivers, knowing they are never gonna have any consistency from the passer. Talk about exciting!! :good!:

I guess Gerald Jones has been working way too hard on his run blocking to catch a pass.

There were at least 4-5 drops, including some that hit the receivers on the numbers. And... if a receiver was good enough to recognize a blitz, they'd know to be looking for a quick pass so it wouldn't hit them in the helmut.

Maybe that is why they can't seem to catch.. Maybe they are not used to it landing where it is suppose to land...Due to it happening so rarely..:)

So you're actually saying this is Crompton's fault? That's no excuse for them.

Their blocking was crap as well... is that Hardesty's fault?

These are the only passes I give to the receivers, the rest should have been caught.
but there were like 14 of them. Receivers got their hands on them, but those catches are impossible, especially considering that Crompton has gone to the anti-pick method of throwing everything like a rocket.

They may not have much consistency but if they get hit in the hands with the ball, its pretty much all on them. Granted, he doesn't always hit them in the hands. But at least 6 times Saturday he hit them and they just missed it. That's nothing to do with Crompton.
Even in pee-wee I think you're expected to catch the ball when it hits you.

Exactly!! And if he would have hit them in stride, some could have gone for huge gains.

I agree, those drops or misses mad up the majority of missed opportunities. That is your qb putting the receiver in a very difficult position. Plus you are taking yards away from him by not giving him any chance to make a play with his feet.

They were hit in stride at times and didn't catch it.

Both receivers and QB were to blame. Anyone else notice that Crompton looks far more comfortable in the shotgun/hurry-up?

there isn't an excuse when they miss good passes, but I guarantee you that every last one of them is afraid of being maimed by going after one of the QBs offerings. He hangs them out to dry constantly with high throws.

Eh, that's about the same as a QB making bad passes because his OL gives him no time to throw and he's afraid of being hit.
