So we lose a close one to Alabama without Fulky or Chandler and still drop 4 spots in the AP poll. Doesn’t make sense. Guess the voters didn’t know we were missing two starters.

Well you shouldn’t drop four spots just losing on the road to a ranked opponent. On top of that we had two starters out.

I wonder if they're keeping it simple, on the assumption that eventually it should all even out: playing undermanned and playing against undermanned.

Otherwise, they'd have to be well-informed about both rosters of every game played weekly by the top 50 or so teams. Just not possible, unless the research involved becomes each voter's full time job.

I don't worry about rankings....especially in early January.
