Drop Georgia Tech

I just don’t believe Georgia Tech is actually anything more than Haynes King. They lost to NC State, barely beat Boston College, and needed the refs help to beat Wake Forest. I think it’ll be another Syracuse.

I get we’re all negative after the Vandy game, and I am well aware that the 2026 schedule is hellacious compared to 2025, but Georgia Tech is nothing to be afraid of. And I’m far from a sunshine pumper before anyone screams at me.
I’m with you on King at GT. Plus, On paper our SEC schedule is crazy, but we play a lot of teams that fired their coaches and have a whole new staff. Hopefully that works to our advantage too

you do not remember correctly.

Haynes King is gone, 6th senior.
and their defense is on par with ours, its bad. 89th in yards per game, and 71 in points per game. their defense was the reason they lost games and struggled so much at the end of the year.

They are losing 18 starters or back ups, at minimum. and those back ups are backing up another guy who is leaving.
Qb1, Rb1, TE1, TE2, RG1, RG2, LG1, Slot 1, WRX1, WRX2.
NT1, NT2, DT1, DT2, CB1, CB2, SS1, FS1.

its going to be a rough year for GT next year.

the next QB is pretty good, but not shifty like King was. King was their entire running offense, RB1 was a good player, but teams keyed off on him. Tight ends were typically their best receivers and they are gone with a lot of the top WRs. Hard to count out a Brent Keys O-line, so I would read into that much.
Defense at pretty much every level is going to be gutted.
Yeah, their defense gave up 48 to NC State, 34 to Boston College and 42 to Pitt. They looked better against Georgia but that is a rivalry game. The only team they played this year that scored less on them than Georgia was Gardner-Webb. I definitely wouldn't say they have a stout defense.

Based on what? Georgia Tech is pretty damn suspect w/ 99% of their offense being gone. Meaning Haynes King is gone

We have to play a power 4 opponent every year. Just like every ACC team, maybe Big 12 team. Now it’s time to for the B1G to nut up and require the same for their league. Especially after the all bs their coaches have been talking .
Accurate.

Haynes King is to Georgia Tech as Go Diego Go is to Vanderbilt. UT will smoke GT.

Week 0 in college football should Include a SEC vs Big Ten challenge like basketball does SEC vs ACC.

Take previous years standings from each conference and make them play each other.

#1 vs #1
#2 vs #2
And so on

That's 16 head to head matchups..

Every which Conference wins the Challenge can proclaim the biggest penis for a year.

I personally only care about Tennessee and screw the rest of the Conference but I understand there's plenty of SEC water carriers on this site.

Who says that? We are even more suspect next year.
In what way? GT loses Haynes King, Jamal Haynes, two of their top three receivers, 3 TEs, both starting OG, 1st and 2nd string NT, 1st and 2nd string DT, both starting safeties, one starting CB, starting P and both their KO and Punt returners. That's just counting seniors. There could be more through the portal and early draft entries. That's off a team that is no better than we are this year.

With 9 SEC games next year Danny should drop and replace the GT game. Scheduled a cupcake for the replacement. Some of the other SEC schools are doing the same. I know Bama just dropped USF and replaced them with Chattanooga. Give yourself a level playing field with rest of the conference.
I thought SEC is requiring nine conference games plus one power4 game each season starting next year?

Can we at least get the game moved to Mercedes Benz stadium like the GT/Georgia game?

I really hope not TBH.

First GT home game I am planning to attend in like 20 years lol.

I plan on stumbling and bumbling around the corner from my old fraternity house right into the stadium lol.

GTs pregame festivities have always been kinda meh Tbh.

I'm 50 years old. If I stated every single offseason for the last 50 years that we would beat Vandy the next year, I would've been right 42 times.
I remember listening to John Ward calling the ‘82 Vandy game with Allen Crockwell at QB and hearing his voice as Vandy beat us. Fast forward to the call in show with his replacement the Monday after Vandy beat us for the first time since. I never will forget Fulmer stating “…glad the seasons over”.

Another thread started that doesn’t understand everyone has to play a power 4 school. My thing is extreme heat now needs to be put on the big 10 teams that play ridiculous weak conference schedules to begin with. They need to be made to schedule a team out of the other conference every year. Sick and tired of OSU and Michigan playing cream puff schedules except for 2 or 3 games every year. And they try to act like Illinois,Iowa and the Michigan States of the world are some grueling grind. What a freakin joke. For the big 10 to clamour for the sec to play an extra conference game is really really rich crap! Time to turn the tables on that BS! GBO

It’s ok. Just have some people predict us to go 8-4 and we won’t have any greater expectations.

Aaron Philo, their backup has played alot and seems competent.

Thanks for clarification.

I wasn’t sure about King but thought their D was much better than rankings you posted.

They played well against UGA this yr too.
