Drone Delivery...

Powerlines would be my main concern. Oh and FedEx and UPS will lobby against it and the FAA will never let this "fly"

Bezos said the FAA rules should be in place by 2015. He said it would be optimistic to see the program in operation by then but that would be the earliest it could launch (no pun intended).

You know we'll probably never see packages being air delivered as described but as long as they continue to pursue and look for innovative ways to improve service and delivery
Something good will come from it
Just imagine the conversations talking place at UPS Fedex and Walmart this morning
Walmarts trying like hell to catch Amazon

But they wont be in place by 2015. Drones for delivery wont be happening for a long time

Reminds me of that concert festival last year where they delivered free beer to the crowd via drones.

What would make sense for people who live outside the 10 mile radius would be a 24/hour Amazon Air stores throughout the US. Could be manned by 1 employee at a time. Basically the drones pick up at warehouse, drop off at store in a few hours after purchase online. Customer get's a text message their package is ready. They could open these all over the US.
