Drone Delivery...

10 mile radius? We that don't live in large metropolitan areas will never see this in our lifetime.

Don't be so sure. Amazon is throwing up DCs all over. They are even toying with micro DCs in smaller areas. I'm sure the radius will continue to expand as well.

Plus I don't see this being an Amazon exclusive thing.

Finally, a discreet way to have my monthly order of hard pornography sent to me. No more concerned looks from delivery people or neighbors!

The closest Amazon distributing warehouse to me is more than 40 miles away. Not saying that this is not a great marketing tool, but it is not feasible (IMO) to offer this service to "anywhere" as the article suggests.

This is so stupid, and pathetic honestly. All in the name of getting your package to you faster. Could you imagine the liabilities involved with this. You seriously want a very large, online shipping company flying this crap over your houses, cars, streets, your kids playing out in the yard? The very second one of these things fails and lands on someone it's over. Ever heard of load shift, down bursts, rain, wind, complete power failure.

I would trust Amazon to get it right more than I would the fed govt or local police force.

Ideas like this come and go in big companies. Sure it sounds good in theory but trying to apply it is a different matter

I'm sure all of that has crossed their minds as they invest Millions into the project. .

I could see some rednecks trying to shoot them out of the air. My guess is they will have tracking devices/black boxes on them.

Can you imagine what the sky will look like around Christmas? The NYC skyline might be a little different.

I'll just keep shooting them down, till I get the new Ipad, and MacBook

Powerlines would be my main concern. Oh and FedEx and UPS will lobby against it and the FAA will never let this "fly"
