Drew Richmond

I’m seeing so many negative comments about Drew Richmond. Does he get any kudos for being moved to an unfamiliar position on the Oline but showing sparks of improvement during his transition?? I mean how many OC and Oline coaches has the kid had... his development has been altered and delayed because of the instability of the stafff..... I’m looking at this from another angle only because it’s so many negative bandwagon comments about the kid and no balance, in his defense. Am I wrong??!!
He’s A lot better than these idiots will ever give him credit for

Which position are you claiming was unfamiliar? Because he's a natural RT. He was a RT for his entire HS career. In fact, I thought it was stupid of the prior staff to try to make him into a LT. So this staff did him a favor by putting him back at RT, where he was still awful.

He was simply highly overrated coming out of high school, which some observers warned us about. He hadn't the feet, the athleticism, or the skill set to be a solid SEC OLineman.

I agree that a lot of folks are overly negative on him. He has stunk it up and times, but has shown signs of improvement.

Also he was a 5-star on Rivals but 4-star on Scout. Maybe Scout had it right.

I try not to criticize the players publically, though sometimes it's hard not too. Tennessee has enough problems without me making them worse.

I'm not hating on the kid. He has the size and looks like a 5 star, but he either hasn't been developed correctly , is slow of foot, or possibly just doesn't give has all. He is not a total bust because he has played a lot, but his playing time hasn't been quality or worthy of his 5 star rating.

After say that, he will probably play 8 years in the NFL and make millions. LOL 😀

Based on what? Serious question.

I watched him literally whiff on 4 blocks in the Charlotte game. Think about it. Air did as well as he did on those plays.

I want all who can do well to do well, so what will it take for him?

Not as bad as last year, not as good as we need him to be. He'll probably end up making a great guard next season.

Drew is a good kid, Drew has no feet.

Yea, he seems a step slow for SEC...but as you said, he seems like a great guy...I know he's a lot faster and stronger than I ever was...it's just tough playing OL in the SEC against all those great DL
