I’m seeing so many negative comments about Drew Richmond. Does he get any kudos for being moved to an unfamiliar position on the Oline but showing sparks of improvement during his transition?? I mean how many OC and Oline coaches has the kid had... his development has been altered and delayed because of the instability of the stafff..... I’m looking at this from another angle only because it’s so many negative bandwagon comments about the kid and no balance, in his defense. Am I wrong??!!

I thought he had a real strong game against KY. In other games, he either made a lot of mistakes or lacked the effort to make blocks. The announcers pointed out several instances in which he didn’t even attempt to block his assignment. On one such play, the DL cut across his face and DR didn’t lay a hand on him. The DL blew up the play and the announcers showed it 2-3 times. I don’t think you can claim all of his mistakes were due to changing coaches as a certain amount of effort, concentration, and desire are needed.

Good Kid, college career made a disaster by an incompetent admin.

But dont dare saying anything about top athletes thinking long and hard about coming to Tennessee, folks dont like that.
College career made a disaster because he couldn't block a 12 year old. But don't talk about these 20 year old "kids", folks don't like that.

Glad to see your positive feedback to players at Tennessee. Im sure they are glad you are a fan.

In an earlier post you said a bunch of players quit. I was curious to know who you think quit. Care to name a few?

Peewee football 101.

There’s one basic element of being an offensive lineman that Richmond had trouble fulfilling: He could not get lined up on the line of scrimmage and “Drew” quite a number of illegal formation penalties. Four of them occurred early in the season in a game, and all in the first half. And this was repeated all season.

Nuff said.

I don't know what the problem is. Don't like seeing young men trashed for lack of ability. I'm just not sure that's what's going on here. If you've DVR'd any games, watch 10 minutes only keeping an eye on him. It looks much more like attitude than ability. He doesn't look like he tries most of the time.

He came in as a 5 star and there is something that should mean. Instead he lines up wrong and gets beat on every play with what looks like half effort at best. Its been 4 years i think he would have shown some promise regardless of where on the line he was placed.

Drew was evidently one of the best five linemen we had he played in every game. So that means all the linemen we have that didn't play are worse than he is so were in some really bad trouble evidently going into the off season. We need all those freshman that are committed and ones that haven't but might to realize that they may play immediately.
