Drew Richmond needs to see playing time or possibly start at RT on the O-Line..

Just to be helpful, you dont have to be on here 24/7. If you look at the right hand upper part of the page when you login, you will find a VN search bar. You can normally find what you are looking for by typing some keywords in that bar. Just helping out

Apologies and thanks for the info.

Apologies. I'd figured you'd be relieved that it's a thread about something else instead of those one million threads about "The coaching staff sucks", "Fire Butch", "We suck", being made every day.

To be fair, we have an equal amount of "XXXX should start this week" or "why is XXXX still on the field". Just sayin

Kerbyson is probably the best OL on the team at any position.

I do not understand the hate for Kerbyson and the adoration for Robertson. Kerby is solid. Robertson was all SEC Freshman because very few freshman start or even play in the SEC. If you play at all you are all SEC Freshman. Robertson really struggles and is playing out of necessity. He is improving and better than anyone else we have right now. Kerbyson has been very good at guard and solid at tackle.

Some of you guys really lose your minds over duplicate threads. I think I'm just old(39) and remember how hard it was to find info about the Vols before Volnation was at my fingertips. All hail Freak.

Yeah, people totally shouldn't look for conversations about this topic that have already been going on for hours before posting. They totally need to start a new thread every time.

Then why did you jump on? Another chance to lecture everybody?

Coming from fade route. :lolabove:

That was all resolved long ago without your troll-y little self.

Again, if it's an obvious repetitive thread as evidenced by the title, why did you jump on and post? Couldn't you have just ignored it?

To post this relevant piece of information and direct them to the thread already going on with more active conversation:

"As we first reported earlier this week, Drew Richmond has moved to left tackle --- his first time ever at the position --- and his early returns are extremely promising. Not only has Richmond been showing greater understanding and retention, but he's physically had his best week of on-field practice. Venzel Boulware also has been steadily improving. As we were told this week, "It's exciting to think about the nucleus of those four growing up together the next few years" in reference to Boulware, Hall, Jones and Richmond. There's no question that Hall and Richmond are viewed as the tackles of the future, with Hall again potentially earning starting privileges this season. Ditto for Jones."

Is there a reason you're jumping on this thread, or are you just being fade?

It would be nice to see an A-Team Oline that consisted of the following:
RT Blair
RG Mosley
C Coleman
LG Robertson
LT Richmond

If these players were all at the top of their game...the Vols would have an outstanding Oline...backed by Jones, Hall, Kerbyson, Kendrick, Wiesman and Crowder. :dance2:

Why do people keep calling for our seniors to get benched? Kerbyson has been solid for us and is a team leader...and he's going to keep playing his butt off cause this is his last year and he's got a whole heck of a lot more to play for than Richmond.

That's why I didn't understand the Crowder decision...the kid was a huge team leader, solid player, and a senior, and gets put on the shelf.

Both Kerbyson and Crowder still lead the team warmups and pre-game hype for goodness sakes. With Maggitt out, we need these guys to remain leaders in the lockerroom and on the field. Taking their spots away that they've bled for over four years to give to some unproven freshmen and sophomores isn't going to help.

I know he's just a true freshman but Butch did everything in his power to get this 5 star kid to come to Knoxville. Apparently he's impressed the coaches and possibly sees playing time against Western Carolina this weekend. My question is, who else thinks he should start at RT over Kendrick? I've watched Kendrick get beat a couple of times against Oklahoma. Not saying Richmond will be 100% better but he can't be no worse. I think he deserves a shot.

Just curious, how many practices have you watched?

The problem is less with the offensive line and more with the play calling and offensive coordinator. Find a new starter for that position please -- that's where we appear to be weakest.

I took his pictures and watched him dominate at Memphis University School the entire time he played...........He is a beast on the field

Blue font? Did you see him whiff in the OU game in one on one situations on several occasions. I'm not picking on the kid but he is not a good tackle. See Dobbs fumble against OU for evidence.

Newsflash. Everyone on the roster was a beast in high school. It doesnt mean he is going to come in and beast in the best conference in the country day 1.

I think it is a strange statement for someone to make. Coaches prepare these kids every day to play. they are with them in practice, meetings and film study. Their future depends on making the right choices on who to play and why.

Seems to me if player B is worse than player A then they would play A.

FYI. Hall moved to right tackle this week and is the more likely player to replace Kendrick. Richmond was moved to left tackle and don't expect him to beat out Kerbyson this year. He is prepping for the future.
