Drastic action needed on Ebola

I think most of these people are getting it because they have very poor hygiene and they eat communally out of the same big bowls with their hands.

As of now it's not airborne but if it continues to spread it could eventually mutate and become airborne.

Ebola is from space?

This could put a whole other spin on border security in the near future.

No, but who knows what nuking an area in order to "destroy" a pathogen would do (besides the fact that you just nuked a continent).

888 cases. 569 dead Ebola

A small out break of the pneumonic plague in china as well. An entire town has been quarantined.

Time to close all travel from Africa to the US. Be a little bit proactive.
Yes, that's why we need to put a bar or at least a quarantine period on travel to the US for anyone coming from an infected area.
Play it safe. Quarantine Africa 100%. We can get our coffee and diamonds elsewhere.

These are ideal steps, but as FLVOL69 says...

They'll just come in through Mexico..

Can we nuke Africa now and make sure this doesnt spread?

We're not quite to that point yet...but when it is time for that sort of option, I imagine it would be something along the lines of incendiary (napalm, thermite, chlorine trifluoride, white phosphorus) or thermobaric (fuel-air explosive) rather than nuclear in order to incinerate the pathogen without irradiating the entire area.

Any experts in disease-control and/or explosives feel free to correct me if I'm wrong (I'm definitely not a subject-matter expert).

So it begins....

"On July 20, Sawyer collapsed after getting off an Arik Air flight from Liberia to Lagos, Nigeria, where he was attending a conference. He was planning a visit to Coon Rapids next month to see his wife and his three daughters: Bella, 1; Mia, 4; and Eva 5."

"Health officials in Africa are being even more cautious about stemming the virus, given that Sawyer was able to board a plane and could have potentially introduced the disease to the largest city in Africa."

If we weren't able to stop Bieber Fever, I seriously doubt America can stop an Ebola epidemic.
