Draft results under Heupel.

Only 13 players outta G6 schools got drafted. Of the P4 players who were drafted, only 30 started their career at G6. NIL is taking all the talent to the P4 schools.

It's definitely an improvement but there's still another step we need to take
You’re not wrong but it’s entirely possible if the defense has improved significantly that we’ve taken another step. Say whatever you want about Heupel but he’s been great at developing the QB position since he got here. Defense has really been the one major piece missing

Got nothing against our Vols helping NFL teams but, how bout sticking around long enough to win some hardware for the TEAM & FANS before you cash in on your time in Ktown??

I feel like it's still not good enough. Cherry picking stats, the fact is, Heupel needs to do better at putting players in the league. JMO

Last year was the first season the defense really tanked. The defense Heupel took over in ‘21 had very, very little talent & no depth. Poor Matthew Butler had to play 80-90 plays a week on DL. They had 2 LBers. The rest were true freshmen. Taylor was a great CB but everything else was new. LY was a huge disappointment considering the recruiting had been heavily leaning on defense. A lot of guys didn’t live up to their recruiting ratings.

Big O was the anchor of our improving defense. When Thomas, Simmons, and Moi left, everything fell apart. We improved every other position since 2021.
