Draft Grade out (apparently)

If I were honestly giving them advice I would tell JRM to come back and Sutton and Kamara to go...I don't see either one improving on their stock...Sutton doesn't have anything left to prove and Kamara won't get any more touches than this year...and his position has the highest risk of injury.

You would tell Kamara to go? LOL. Not only does he need to come back this year, but he needs to be here in 2017 to be the starting RB...and THEN his stock will skyrocket.

He's a third rounder tops anyway. Why wait two more years and be further from a second contract? The average NFL RB career is only 5-6 seasons.

If he's confident he can put up good combine numbers, I'd tell him to go ahead.

Or he could go undrafted.

I think with the roster we have coming back, he'd benefit from coming back. Being a key cog on a national title winning team makes a difference. He would go 4th round at the latest if he plays exactly like he did this year and we win the chip.

If he leaves this year he runs the real risk of being undrafted.

If draft position is important, they all stay. Don't see either of the three leaving personally. None are top 5, and maybe not even top 10 at their respective position (other than Cam as a punt returner). Ball out next year and then get paid.

Caller on Knox radio said that Kamara hates school and going to class and that's why he might leave despite a low draft prospectus.
I didn't think this was necessarily fair to AK. The host said he had heard the same thing.

Why don't they make up a degree in Footbalogy and let them take classes on coaching troubled Running Backs 202, nuances of NFL contracts 101, Dealing with Football social media 303, Football math, etc. Heck they could make the required science deal with predicting weather for the game and best grass types for regions. I know not everyone of the players would take my suggested degree but then some players could concentrate on what they really want to do which is Football. With the Degree they could be a coach or trainer after their playing days are over.

Once the NFL players retire they could become the professors. Definitely Marshawn Lynch for football social media..

AK is 50/50 right now per VQ. I think if he does go pro our depth is going to be lacking some. I would give Evan Berry a look during the spring if AK goes pro. Not saying I would move him, but his speed is elite. He would be able to duplicate some of the things that Ak brought to the offense.

Cam has never played like that and if he stays, playing "two hand touch" would not improve his draft status

Disagree. Early part of season he wasn't a factor. Mid-season till he started acting like the Cam of 2014...jus' sayin'...:peace2:

GO VOLS!

I know this is partially tongue in cheek but a professional sports degree makes sense. They could have a curriculum that includes sports medicine, psychology, economics, even some engineering. That way even if they don't make it in the pros they would have other options open such as coaching, training, being an agent, or even equipment design.
Practice and game time could be counted as an internship and some form of compensation could be worked out.
The NFL could also do away with the three years out of high school rule and just say that without a pro sports degree you can't be drafted.
Maybe some tweaks could be made to this idea but I have wondered why there isn't a system like this already in place.

I would have no issue with this. Elite speed, can lay the boom. There's a lot more to the position to be seen from him to really know if he could shine at RB, but it couldn't hurt to try. Especially with the talks of JJ moving to safety and the possibility of Nigel Warrior signing with us. EB just needs to be on the field somewhere.

Might as well give Elliot a look at least. He should be healthy and though may not have his brothers speed, should be quick enough

Evan is probably going to start at safety next year. Depth at RB will be ok with two good Soph prospects and a true frosh in the wings. It won't be great depth, but not terrible.

So I just received two separate texts from guys that always seem to know what they are talking about. They each said the draft grades are out for JRM, Kamara and Sutton.

Sutton(mid 3rd round)
Kamara (5th round)
JRM (5th round)

Can anyone else verify?

I thought the grades were only 1st round, 2nd round, or should return to school.

I don't get some of you guys! I never want to see a good player leave early! We need all three of these guys if we are to compete for the SEC title.

I for one don't get all the encouragement going on for good players to leave the program when we need them for next year!!!

Sutton would probably be a 2nd Rd pick, and Maybin between 2nd and 3rd Rd. Kamara in the 5th is about right.

Those grades may be a tendency to lean more toward a worse-case scenario, so that these guys didn't leave early with false hopes of going far earlier than they normally would.

Sutton is a true shut-down corner and those don't grow on trees. I'd draft him before I would Florida's Hargeaves...especially since Sutton has turned out to be so dangerous in the return game.

He has talent to be a shut-down corner. Not fully honed yet though.
