Draft Grade out (apparently)

I think all three would make some teams roster. Unless they just love school they probably should go or if not take out a good insurance policy.

I'd be happy for Cam if he did go. I'm selfish and want him to stay naturally but seriously what a guy. A 3* out of high school and made a big name for himself. Never been in trouble and has repped TN well. Make your money while you can. It worries me that the tweaked hammy will cause him to underperform at the combine

I think Cam could increase his value several spots. Our Dline will be better and get more of a push and give him a lot more opportunities for Ints. Not to mention how many bad QB's he'll face next year. He could really pad some stats.
If our DL is better as expected and getting more pressure, the last thing QB"S are going to be doing is throwing ducks in the direction of CS.

Need to go in top 2 rounds for guaranteed money. Odds of making a roster get pretty dicey after that and no guaranteed rookie deal.

There's no such thing as a 3rd - 5th round "grade" anymore. And Sutton is going in the 2nd round, I dont gaf what his grade is.

Why are scouts constantly underappreciating Cam Sutton? The guy's started every game of his three year career, he's one of the best punt returners in the country, and his lockdown coverage has helped us have one of the best 3rd down defenses in the country over the past two years. I hope he returns because his departure would obviously hurt our defense, but seriously that 3rd round evaluation is garbage.
He's not considered in the top 4 CBs in the SEC. I love the kid, great player & VFL but there are better players out there. Prove 'em wrong Cam come back and pick up all SEC and AA honors!!

Hyamms said Cam's grade was more about his size and speed not about his performance, can't grow taller can't improve his speed much so he is probably better off going now.

So I just received two separate texts from guys that always seem to know what they are talking about. They each said the draft grades are out for JRM, Kamara and Sutton.

Sutton(mid 3rd round)
Kamara (5th round)
JRM (5th round)

Can anyone else verify?

There is zero chance Cam is 3rd round. I'll wait for the actual grades which I believe come out in Feb.

I can see JRM being 3 - 5 round based on his weight. No idea on Kamara based on 1 season as backup to Hurd

I think there is a pretty good shot he's not taken until 3rd.

If cams 40 is in the 4.4 range and his vertical is above 35 inches, he will be 1st round. If not I think he is a late 2nd round 3rd round selection. He will really have to wow on his pro day and combine.

Just stop. You're embarrassing yourself.

Really, they only thing I said for certain is JRM will almost assuredly be back. I also think Kamara will be back and I think it's 50-50 on Sutton at the least. JRM will be back, you think I'm embarrassing myself with that statement??? JRM is a heckuva ballplayer and has a great chance at a great NFL career. Having said that he has things that he can get better at and also get a little stronger. Next year his stock goes way up along with Kamara. Kamara has not played a lot of football, to get a higher draft status for the type of back he is he is needs another year of playing time in the SEC. Another player that's stock will soar with another good year under his belt. Both of them players stock improves drastically by staying. Now tell me again DOOFUS who is embarrassing themselves. GBO!!!!

Cam is not the 3-4 best corner coming out, he may not even be the in the top 10 in terms of corners coming out if we are being honest with ourselves, available corners who are arguably better so where does he fall in this group:

Jalen Ramsey
Vernon Hargreaves
Kendall Fuller
Mackensie Alexander
Elijah Apple
Will Redmund
Cyrus Jones
Artie Burns
Von Bell
Tredavious White
Cameron Sutton
William Jackson
Desmond King

If I were honestly giving them advice I would tell JRM to come back and Sutton and Kamara to go...I don't see either one improving on their stock...Sutton doesn't have anything left to prove and Kamara won't get any more touches than this year...and his position has the highest risk of injury.

All three are NFL talent. Any NFL team should be happy to have them on their team. These guys, will make any team better. Hindsight being 20/20, I hope we can look back in 20 yrs and be glad for them that it work out for the best. I like the insurance idea.

Go Vols!

If you look at the last 4-5 years, typically 7-9 CBs are taken by the end of round two. So if Sutton is in that 7-9 range (which I think he is and apparently you do too since Von Bell is a safety, not a CB) he has a chance of being a second rounder. His return versatility is a plus, but I think he'd need a really good combine performance to solidify a second round grade.

The reason I can't see Kamara staying is because his draft stock isn't going to improve much next year. He will still be splitting carries which won't increase his stock that much. I'd go ahead and take the money instead of risking injury.

He had more and more carries as the season went on tho. First play from scrimmage against NW had him and Hurd in the backfield. I think he'll have quite a few more touches next yr.

Possibly not as many big named RBs for next yr also.

Not me. If I were giving advice to them, I'd tell them all to come back, buy an insurance policy for your health, and see if I couldn't hit at least the top two rounds. Lots of guys have gotten their hearts broken coming out early. Get that great college experience, get your degree, get an insurance policy and ride it for what it's worth. Very few men get rich in the NFL.

Any idea how those insurance co grade the max payout for these players? I've heard 5 mil is the max, but can anybody take that out or do they have to meet certain criteria?

Per Hubbs
On the field, the NFL Draft early entry deadline is January 15. We hear that Cam Sutton got the most favorable grade, in that third-round range, while the NFL has revamped its formula and does not issue a formal grade for prospects who are not considered likely for rounds 1-3. Now, those grades are notoriously conservative, as the NFL would rather guys who aren't sure-fire "money prospects" ---- only the first three rounds include guaranteed money --- return to school. Here at week's end, Tennessee appeared poised to retain both Cam Sutton and Jalen Reeves-Maybin while Alvin Kamara continues to fully explore all of his options. Kamara, we're told by many, is a 50/50 proposition at this point.
