Downs out

Tell me more about your quads......... Oh wait, you played soccer..... I don't want to hear about your quads now. Ghey.

Lol, my hs football team was awful. Our soccer team actually scrimmaged our football team and beat them at their own sport. Basketball, football, soccer... That order. Lol

No official word yet.

Freshman will hv to play, King and
Meredith probably.... Ben Bart. Will
Get some reps, maybe Ayers in
Blocking situations.... Gonna be a
Glaring weakness unless a Frosh
Steps up big..

IMO Meredith won't be a factor at TE in '12

He has been battling a hamstring injury for over a year now

Typical... all Cam Clear's fault.

this injury matters a lot less if Cam's not a dumbass, and that is his own fault.

He let down a lot of people, teammates, coaches, friends. Not just himself. That's the most selfish kind of person, and I have no time for them. When your actions adversely affect others lives in any way, you have ****** up.

Any high school senior TE or JUCO TE that wants to play SEC ball and is not listening to the Vols is an idiot.

I think we will see a lot of Ben and a little of Ayers on goaline. Meredith will likely play situationally of if Rivera goes down.

I guess our 2 tight end sets are out the window. What about Croom, could he play TE?

Croom is more than a formidable tight end!!! Add some mass to what is already a legit 6'5" frame with a current roster listing at a firm 225 lbs with that type of speed and we could have an unbelievable talent!!

As long as we are balanced keeping an athlete and a blocker during those sets would be highly beneficial!!! Croom may be the answer in years to come!!! AddIng Mr. Downs to the equation
when healThy would give us a great selection of te's for a few Years with The The additions of meredIth and king are develOped properly we are on our way back HOME!!! Being elite was
something i took for granted when i was younger.... Being 25 y/o every yEar i can remembeR we have been an outstanding program!!! Weve had a few End up in sTripes but i know it would take a hard nose to prevent such a situation .... The lifestyle would be unreal!!! CDD has done a decent job recruiting and with any luck developing talent will come natural with our new coaching staff!!!

Maybe in time Croom could be a "formidable" TE but it doesn't help us right now. If Downs is out it's potentially a big hit to our offense. Other then Rivera we have no true TE ready to play. All the names being mentioned are just putting a body on the field not legit TE's at this point. Losing Downs certainly doesn't help the running game and finding a replacement on short notice that can block SEC players is not going to be easy.

For two tight end sets fr power run they will likely go with one extra olineman since we have several good ones....

Good point but some might argue that soccer while carrying 300 lbs on your shoulders requires just as much knee stability. I work close with the Alabama Sports Med docs and they have really accelerated their protocols across the board. I'm used to athletes returning to sports quicker than protocol guidelines.
