Down to 14 Recruits

History has shown that 3-4 will move on over Christmas break. There are usually guys who realize they are in over their head. Tom Smith comes to mind. Kyberson needs to leave but probably won't. Pair, Schofield...there are always some who grow tired of riding the pine.

If Jones keeps Palardy, will tell us a lot about him. No succssful college head coach would accept the inconsistency...especially at key situations of the UT kicking game...are their any Colquitt cousins floating arud out there...Dustin's kids need to grow up quickly!!!

WIth all the rapid fire offers this week from the new staff I would guess we are taking a lot more than 14.

it will tell us nothing since no new coach is going to come in and start yanking scholarships

No new coach would yank scholarships??

If that is our statement you are far from correct. Coaches is all sports clean house when they first get jobs to make sure there is room for their guys.

figured you would give specifics of coaches taking away scholarships from seniors since it's so widespread but I guess not

are we recruiting a kicker guaranteed to be better than him?

It would certainly be less likely that they would ask a senior to go elsewhere but your post said no mention of that. You claimed coaches don't clean house when they first get jobs. That's flat out wrong!

The first thing that a winning coach will do when they take over a losing program is to get rid of the "losers" and it will start with the every day strength workouts..the off season workouts...they are evaluating every player already via film, interviews, attitude in the workouts and the coaches will push them like they have never been pushed before....they will leave on their own...quitters/losers always quit.

We here on VN complain because we don't like the quality of recruits that Dooley was bringing in.

But, we here on VN complain because those same recruits aren't encouraged by the new staff and they decommit.

Better watch out. You can't give an opposing opinion. They'll start calling you a Grudenite! :whistling:

since it was specific to Palardy I just assumed you would realize he's a senior

show me these coaches who come in a revoke scholarships. Since it is so common there must be hundreds. I'm especially interested in the ones that have no competent backup

Is scholarships a singular word(like one singular kicker) or is it a plural word that would mean more than one single kicker??

""""Since he took over for Urban Meyer back in January, Muschamp has seen the roster shrink by 15, mostly because of transfers and dismissals. Transferred out or dismissed from the team were tight ends Gerald Christian, Michael McFarland and Desmond Parks; wide receivers Robert Clark, Chris Dunkley and Javares McRoy; running back Mike Blakely; defensive end Lynden Trail; linebackers Chris Martin and Dee Finley; cornerback Janoris Jenkins and safety Josh Shaw. Fullbacks T.J. Pridemore and Steve Wilks had to take medical hardships after doctors advised them to give up the game. Linebacker Neiron Ball was physically unable to perform this season due to a spinal condition. His football future has yet to be determined.""""

Need more????

That's one example considering that's one team. I would also like HG to weigh in on this because I don't think Muschamp "kicked" those guys off the team. I think a lot of them were academic casualties or transfers.

There is a big difference between your argument of removing players from the roster due to the coach, or players end up transferring or not being academically eligible.

i think we will sign 15 this year. i just think its too late to try and build the necessary relationships this year. look for 2014 to be a big year

This would mean that CBJ would have a year zero? We can't afford any more year zeros. We need a strong recruiting year.

Want to answer whether your statement concerning scholarshipS was plural or singular in thought?? If you want to go back and edit your post that's fine because it certainly isn't helping your futile argument here!

Coaches don't "yank" scholarships. They "encourage" them to move on or look elsewhere but they don't just yank them.

They may not yank schollies, but they will either paint them a picture of what it will be like.
In Kiffin's case, he has his S&C coach make life miserable for several, and there was an Exodus. Some left because of how Fulmer was ousted, and some just hated Kiffin.

I said this wouldn't be pleasant to discuss and its a dirty part of the game but its darn sure part of it. Hopefully kids will leave on their own if they don't fit the new agenda but make no mistake they will be nudged out the door if need be

We should all simmer down and enjoy a nice picture of Kate Upton.
