Like I said preseason, overrated. Year in, year out.

Hmmmm

Preseason AP rank ... year end results ...

'14/'15 - started 13th -- ended up Elite 8
'15/'16 - started 9th -- ended up Sweet 16
'16/'17 - started 14th -- ended up Title Game/Final 4
'17/'18 - started 18th -- ended up Sweet 16
'18/'19 - started 3rd -- currently #1 NET, #2 KenPom, #1 AP

Other than the fact you are wrong 5 out of the last 5 years, good point.

I hate Duke. But nothing compares to the disdain I have for Notre Dame.

I hope Zion fully recovers as of April 9 and is the number 1 pick.

I wonder how much that Nike shoe could get on EBay??

I over simplified my thought and used bad wording. Certainly Gonzaga has been remarkably consistent in winning their conference, getting a high seed, and then more often than not winning a game or two. But that is where I think the shortcomings begin and what I mean when I say overrated.

Since 2004 (15 years), Gonzaga has been a 4 seed or better 8 times, and only once made it to a Final Four. The year they finally went far, they didn't beat a single team higher than a 4 seed. The path was 16, 8, 4, 11, and 7. Is that the Zags fault? No. Was it a fluke of a run? No. But it was an easier path to me that helped a lot.

Tournament success is what people remember. Do I like that fact? No, not really. But the numbers have shown Gonzaga and Few fall short often when it matters.
