Down goes Dook

I mean, I get you were missing Killian Tillie, but he averages 6 ppg and 4 rpg this year. How much was he really missed? And who was the second guy in your top 6 that missed? Hachimura, Clarke, Norvell, Perkins, Kispert, and Petrusev all played. Or are you suggesting that Geno Crandall is in your top 6? Hard to buy that, if that’s what you’re implying given that he currently average 5 & 2.

Remember, we played without Lamonte Turner, ourselves, and he accounts for 11 ppg, 3.5 apg, and 2.5 rpg.

Totally forgot LT was missing earlier this year. When he is on our team has a different swagger that the team feeds off of much like Admiral. I hope LT turns in on soon for the remaining regular season games and tourney run.

Not sure how closely you follow college basketball but there’s more to it than offensive stats. Crandall is the only backup pg and GU’s defensive specialist. He’s a grad transfer and with him missing 9 games the GU (including UT and UNC) there was a problem a) stopping dribble penetration and b) defending the perimeter.

I’m aware UT was missing Turner.

We will see who goes farther this year ... a full strength GU or a full strength GU.

Tillie isn’t back anyway, he’s done for the year.

Nice passive-aggressive jab there. I’m not sure how closely you follow college basketball, but Turner is also our only real backup at PG and a defensive specialist, as well. He also happens to impact the game for us in just about every facet more than Geno Crandall ever will for the Zags. Turner averages more points, rebounds, assists, and steals. He also shoots better from the perimeter. You can dismiss statistics all you want, but literally every statistic favors Turner.

I just have a hard time counting someone who contributes so little statistically to your team among your top 6 players. That just seems like an overstated position to justify your two losses. It would be like Tennessee fans suggesting that John Fulkerson is among our top 6 players because he is a high energy player, a pretty good defender, and our only true backup to Kyle Alexander at C.

Your response sounded as if you weren’t, who cares if OP was counting him as missing 1 of their main 6, he’s still out so they still aren’t at full strength like he was trying to infer. All I was saying.
No, I was just saying when he came back, he didn’t light the world on fire. I was speaking to his perceived impact on the Tennessee game that he missed, not his future impact on the Zags ultimate fate going forward.

And I agree, they still won’t be at full strength, but I think the impact of missing those two guys during the Tennessee game, Crandall especially, is very overstated. Using that as a crutch without acknowledging that we also played without Turner is telling only half the story of that game.

You would have 5 losses this year if you played in the SEC.

I watched the last 12 minutes and Duke looked really good. They don't seem like they are lost without Zion, Tech is a good team and they had to make everything down the stretch in order to preserve the victory.

That should be enough to ban ZJC from the site. :)

There is no comparison

Jordan is so romanticized, it's ridiculous. In no way was he some sort of great leader that is above comparison. His play and tenacity is the only thing that made him a good leader. Jordan was a complete dick to teammates. He's petty, arrogant, insulting, he's a bully, etc. He won't even talk to Barkley because Barkley (as a member of the media) criticized his management of the Hornets. He's such a baby.

Right, but it doesn't make everything about him the best.

You are correct about Jordan (was joking earlier btw). Reggie Miller can attest about MJ being a douche. It was kind of impossible not to idolize Jordan if you were a kid growing up in the late 80s and early 90s.

I was a big Jordan fan, but it's been so long since I actually enjoyed watching him that his post playing career has soured my feelings on him. There's really nothing good to say about his retirement other than he's been able to make himself even filthier rich.
