Dover Motorsports kills another track

I hope someone decent buys the track and gets it going. That's the best I can hope for at this point.

I hope so too. MMP was honestly lucky to be bought by someone who wanted to bring racing back. I hate to say it, but Bruton needs to buy the place. He obviously knows how to sell tickets.

The racing hasn't been that great at Nashville. They never had a green/white/checker finish, the cars always get spaced out and the winner usually does so by 2 or more seconds.

People don't want to pay for tickets to Nationwide or Camping World to see that kind of race.

I wish a group would go in and remodel and upgrade the old fairground track, much better racing, imo.

There's a blog on ESPN about Rockingham getting the Nashville races, who knows, but their contract with TV and Nationwide require 'x' amount of races.

Rockingham has to have safer barriers first. I heard it was in the works. they were just trying to make sure it could be done by next year. The deal with Nascar has to be done by sometime this week and the full Nationwide schedule is supposed to be released sometime next week.

Hillenburg has done a lot to generate excitement for the track. However, even the ARCA struggled to get any kind of a crowd to come out recently. I don't see that the Trucks or Nationwide will be able to get much after the first couple of events.

If Lucas Oil Raceway Park loses a date because of its facilities, then Nashville Fairgrounds certainly isn't getting a date on the schedule.

Sounds like Pocono. Maybe DM could buy that place and put their touch of death to it as well.

Yeah, I got into it with some of those idiots on the Tennessean's website. The one thing none of them could answer was why they bought a house in that area considering the track, and racing, was there before they were.

The area over there is a dump and people are too lazy to pick up trash or mow their lawn more than once a year but want to complain about race noise.

I agree. You get what you pay for in a house. They knew they raced there before they bought.
