If they truly don’t have someone lined up, releasing a statement that they do would ease criticism if they weren’t still holding interviews. But the continued interviews with other OC’s gives the impression that they are scrambling. What was the logic behind interviewing Lebby at UCF if it wasn’t for a position?

Makes sense to me. Not any football games to prepare right now, go ahead and take time from all these other coaches preparing for bowl games so we can have a shortlist of replacement coaches for the future. Hell, we don't need an OC til fall camp really. Interview as many as we can. Thinking ahead, I like it.

Part of this is good old fashion capitalism. All of the coaches that are interviewed can go back to their school for a raise, if they don't get one, they know where they stand and can be more aggressive in the future. I bet Pruitt knows most of these coaches well and is laying foundations for the future, for them and himself. I know we are all STUCK in the Sciano debacle and how inept CBJ was in his hiring but the reason some of VOLNATION's top choices got jobs so quick is because they have been working these channels for years. We have not been, thanks to the last 10 years of complete douchery! I think we are gonna be happily surprised by the hire WHEN we find out!

They're interviewing just to get information? Wouldn't a simple phone call suffice for that? Conducting interviews for something like that seems like a waste of time and resources. Why would they do that?

It's recruiting season, who the hell has time to interview/ be interviewed just to talk about schemes. Laughable
