Now that Phil is back in the AD position, I don't think Mathews has any information anymore. As AD, Phil isn't going to leak stuff to him. In the past, I think Phil would hear stuff that probably was accurate and he'd tell Doug.

Serious question, does this ever happen? I of course hear it every time we are in a coaching search but I don’t follow others searches close enough to know if that’s a real thing. Always seems at least that other schools just pick a coach, hire them, and announce them.

Using this logic, we are not hiring a current college OC since he’d bring his recruits with him (or at least the best of the bunch.). Relat ionships, right.....(could also mean Friend getting promoted but then why wait??)

Assuming it’s a solid hire, that makes feel a better about what would have been a pretty sleazy ‘bait and switch’ for the former team’s EE’s.

Plain and simple....this is hogwash. No other team in the history of coaching searches operates like this, no one.

In all reality, pruitt hasn’t hired anyone yet and we seem to be missing out on targets. Anything else is just over-analysis, IMO

I honestly don’t care either way, it’s going to play out eventually... buuuuut, I don’t buy for one second interviews are being done for “information gathering.” Good lord they must think we are a gullible bunch.
