I'm gonna guess (assuming he's right) it has something to do with a current contract by the OC or they have an agreement not to announce by the wish of whoever they are hiring. It's not a hold up on UTs end they have no reason to hold it up.
Most of recruiting is about relationships. You're just not going to sway hardly any recruits with an OC hire late in the recruiting season. Possibly if someone is on the fence it might put them over but it's almost zero impact. There is almost no advantage to a quick hire except for possibly losing out to another school hiring them.
Again, you are basing this statement on the media provided information. Absolutely NO ONE from the administration has verified or denied ANY of the numerous candidates. There are several media "Know it alls" that have been throwing manure against the bricks to see what sticks.I certainly haven't been in the "panic crowd", but this is the weirdest coordinator search I've ever seen. They've "hired someone", but they are "still interviewing" to "get information"?
That sounds a lot like they haven't hired someone.

He very well may be able to. I just don't think a guy who's never been a coach at the college level, let alone an OC, being hired by a guy who had never been a HC at the college level, who was hired by a guy who had never been an AD at any level is a very good combination. I am still hoping it's a seasoned guy with college coaching experience.
