I was listening to 104.5 today and Doug Mathews seems to think that we will win 4 games at most this year and he said DD would win coach of the year if we win 6 games. He's entitled to his opinion, but I honestly believe that Doug has no clue and is still butt hurt over Fulmer's departure. Never been a big fan of Doug's and their is a reason why he hasn't coached in a while. With all that being said, i guarantee we will win at least 6 games. Go Vols!!!

If we only win four games this year at least the meltdown entertainment on here will get me through the harsh months.

If we do only win 4 freakin games that means we only win ONE SEC game. Unheard of and impossible. I think 6 is the minimum. Otherwise this season is FAIL.

I put the number of "Dooley has to go" threads if we win four games at 117 during the offseason. Go with the under/over on that.. HOMEBOY...

Martin, Uab, Memphis, Kentucky (until they beat us) Ole miss, Vandy (will be worst team in SEC over last 20 years this year). No way (barring injury to 1/2 our current starting line up) we don't win 5 games. No way. no way. no way.

Well in 2005 we were picked to go to the NC game and we won 5. So if were picked to win 4 does that mean a BCS bowl for us???

I'm not reading anything into predictions. Lets let the players decide how many games we win

good call! You can never tell what a group of young men can do together. They can fall apart or RISE from the ranks!

I believe in letting the players decide, but we have 6 at home or nashville (worst Vandy team in a while), memphis (larry porter is good, but not there yet) Ky will be ok, but hasn't beaten us in over 25. I can't give them a win. UT- Martin and UAB should be a given. No matter if we start the governor at QB. Ole Miss lost (McLuster, that kicked our ass singlehandedly last year, Shay Hodge, some defenders, their QB (no matter how much he was liked), Maybe Masoli will be eligible. Reveiz will lead our D to 6 wins. We will blitz all day. Get ready for a Sugar Vols Type Season, without the Sugar Bowl. We will be proud of these VOLS!

My blood has run orange for well over 40 years now. Some of my fondest football memories have come when nobody gave us a chance. I look for that trend to continue. I am not being unrealistic and saying we are going to have a great season, but somewhere along the line, we are going to punch somebody in the mouth when they least expect it. I have been saying all along, this team is short on depth and experience, but it is not short on raw talent.

Doug is on the low end, although the ceiling in my opinion is 6 games, so he's not too far off.

It's funny how the media which isn't allowed to watch practice is running this team down. I really think 6 wins is more likely with a chance for 7 if they get some breaks. The way I look at it we finally have some playmakers on this team after a few years of not having them. OL is more talented but has to grow up quick. No getting around DT, it is a weakness, but I think Wilcox will be creative like he was forced to do at Boise. QB? Compton wasn't exactly reliable so these guys don't scare me anymore than him.

I think they moved Vol Calls to Wed for a reason; to allow time for getting over the hangovers before the fans call in. Appreciate that guarantee. :)

This is the season that many people have foreseen the Vols falling into the abyss. They have said this because of the failure by the Vols to recruit solid classes in 2006 and 2007. In looking at our roster, there is a lot of truth to those predictions. Our senior class, junior class, and red-shirt sophomore class is not deep or extremely talented. We will be relying on true sophomores, red-shirt freshmen, and true freshmen.

Over......If Dooley does only win 4 games I would be disappointed. I will defiantly not be saying he should be fired, just concerned. If Dooley is a good coach he should win between 6-8 games.

With injuries 5-7 and without 7-5. Heck even hat went with 6-6 I think.
