I think it was the first game of the year but I noted that a lot of our receivers were running good routes and were open. It hasn’t always been the case the past few weeks.

But JG had guys open yesterday that he just couldn’t find. I noticed it on several plays including one the ints he threw.

  • Inability to deliver splash plays (down the field) makes life easy for other teams DC.(when UT lines up on offense, it makes it easy on other teams DCs)
  • Dumb penalties.. lack of discipline.(this is the true testament of a poorly coached team!)
  • To early to give up. Last 5 games will tell the tale of the season. (seasons done, lets rebuild on the rebuild, that should show the SEC that UT means it this time)

may not be able to beat Bama even with Peyton. I say throw HB in the fire, let him get good experience and ready him up during the bye week for the final 5 games. We could actually go 4-1
with HB, we go 1-4 with JG. Why not take the shot with HB the rest of the season? CAN'T be worse than record with JG.

I don't think HB would have his confidence "nuked", especially if we keep the ball on the ground. HB seems to be a well-adjusted and mature kid. I think he could handle it.

Matthews said after uga game....and I agree with him ...you have to either have wideouts like jennings who are just big and strong and push there way through or go have to have alot of speed to get by and separate. Besides palmer none of the others can which leads me to say put freshman out there they have the speed to

Well, I remember when Brayvwas put in against USCe and threw a pick 6 on his 1st pass. He bounced back pretty good and had a decent game. Let HB that his lumps, learn from them and get US better.

Johnson is good for crossing routes. Palmer is our deep threat, but I believe Hyatt can go get it too if given the opportunity. I'd like to see Hyatt on some crossing routes that clear out the LB's and let him run and find the endzone.

And my biggest fear also, jg can make multiple mistakes and just allowed to keep on playing so far. I remember a game last yr. I think it was Strout, he didn't make a turnover, but threw a bad pass and was yanked, but jg allowed to continue to make mistakes and play. A qb needs to go out and play and have fun, and not be stressed out knowing that if you make one mistake you are going to be pulled and jg go back in. Turnovers is not the only glaring problem with jg. He is so easy for dc to game plan for; which really damages your success at the rb position. He also puts much more pressure on the ol, jg moves very little in the pocket, he is more like a statute back there.

And maurer was well prepared with just one week prep time. I don't buy this that our qb's are not ready. I have heard this far too much. The only exception to date would be Bailely. I have read he has only taken 10 snaps up to the game against ky. That is ridiculous to have a 5 star qb with only 10 snaps. Hc has no idea what he has with Bailey, this is unexcusable.

There's also the possibility he plays well (even in a losing effort), gains experience and confidence that then turns the season around after the open week.

Arkansas has faced similar rebuilding opponents the last 2 years and still couldn’t get a win. Pittman has 2 in 4 games

Why cant we adjust for the slant?

Those are hardly games to write off, sure we need to play better but Florida's defense isn't all that and A@M is up and down. Auburn doesn't have a qb either. Arkansas is tough and we will have to improve greatly on offense to beat them but they are hardly write offs. We need to put in the other qb's and lean on the run and work the pass in and build on that. Our defense will keep us in most games if the offense doesn't gift wrap pick 6's and go 3 and out left and right. Move the ball some and don't turn it over and turn field position. We will bounce back, everyone was hollering last year but we finally settled down. And so far in the sec besides alabama and georgia has had moments where they didn't look good. As much as I am concerned with our qb play, I am not throwing in the towel on our games or season. Lots of football to be played. GBO!

Hyatt was wide open down the seam on one of the interception passes JG threw to the checkdown. Literally had beat both safeties all JG had to do was lob it up and let Hyatt run under it and it was a TD.....

Our DBs / LBs aren’t playing it right. Our DBs are so used to playing on the hip of the wide receivers that they don’t take away their inside and give them a free release.

Our LBs get too caught up either dropping too deep or looking for the run and the slant goes right under and by them.

I agree. We really don't know what kind of young man HB is, he could actually be the type that relishes taking on a tough task and competing. To automatically assume he would wilt if things don't go well seems a stretch he could react exactly opposite of that.
