Dormady's surgery progress

JG will be the most experienced QB coming back in minutes played in career. Also I think he has negative total rushing yards no instincts or pocket presence, so we are hurting at QB if we go spread.

I was hoping he could often make something out of broken O-line play like Rocket Man could. But he didn't do that very much did he?

Don't think Dormady will be ready to compete in the spring, but hope I am wrong.

Either way I believe that Dormady won't be the starter atleast not for the entire season ever again at UT!

He is damaged goods, and doesn't have the mentality to play at a big time SEC school.

You can't teach insticts and Dormady just doesn't have them!

Says the guy who despises QD so much that he wouldn't admit he was wrong... in spite of video that demonstrated he was wrong.

But do you think JG has demonstrated he has the "instincts" or mentality? They dumbed down the O incredibly and he was still indecisive.

Hopefully that was just an immature kid not putting in the work... but he was way behind where he should have been mentally.

Some recognized that he was more of a pocket passer... Some of us even argued that he and Dormady had more in common than he and Dobbs....

He had to prove it before some would believe it.

I think if given the chance, if we can somehow get a few juco lineman to add to what we have, develop the linemen we have, Dormandy will make a mark of greatness at Tennessee. I think he is the better QB on our roster. I know that's not the popular choice, but it is what I have seen on the field. I hope he makes my prediction come true.

Dormady threw more interceptions than TDs, he also played a weaker schedule than Guarantano did. I am not saying that Guarantano is the answer at QB but Dormady definitely isn't, he should be playing at a smaller school with less pressure like Peterman. He isn't built for the SEC spotlight, he crumbled under the pressure last year!

And half of his picks were due to receiver drops and losing a slant route. He only threw 3 inexcusable pics that were solely on him. It’s amazing the lack of context by people on here.

JG is that you, or maybe you're JG's dad.
You seem to be carrying a lot of water for the kid.

WM was a breath of fresh air. You could see (well I could at least) as soon as he stepped onto the field he had confidence. He believed in himself, as did the team. He knew the offense and how to read the defense.
He knew when to scramble etc. Yes he has his limitations, he's not a big guy, cant' throw the deep ball 45 yards. But he's got game, and you (well I ) can see it.

JG will probably be the starter "If we have the same three options we had in 2017 " and he could be very good. But the next QB coach needs to grab him by his face mask and shake the shat out of him.
Ask him why in the f*** he's holding onto the ball so long. Throw it away son, stop taking so many sacks and live to play another down. OH and by the way the RPO, gives you the option to run the ball as well. Ya know maybe pick up 8 yards every now an then.

If he grabs JG’s face mask it will probably come off. The guy can’t even wear a helmet correctly

Arguing over Dormady v. Guarantano must be a total exercise in frustration. And yet plenty of folks think 8-9 wins is a reasonable expectation next year. Must be looking for a historic turnaround on the defensive side.

I didn’t have to read 6 pages of comments to know that everyone loves the backup.... even if he was the one that got benched.

Dormady was in the system for 3 years and looked worse than JG who was in the system 2 years.

There was a lot of video evidence showing Dormady was a below average QB, and JG wasn't!!!

Apparently you didn't watch the same games I did.

Wow outside of the 4th quarter at GT. He looked like hot garbage.

Dormady played against:
GT 5-7
Indiana State 0-11
Florida 4-7
UMASS 4-8
And half of the GA game.

Which game exactly did Dormady look better than a below average QB?

Atleast Guarantano showed some spark in the offense, Heck Will McBride looked better than Dormady!

I will give you Will McBride. I think he will be something special at Tennessee. I saw better pocket presence, more leadership skill, and better overall performance with QD when both played in the same games. If JG was so good, why didn't he get to stay in the games he entered while QD was starting? He didn't get to start until QD was injured.

One word BUTCH JONES!

He got the start when Dormady sucked it up against GA not whne he got hurt. The injury wasn't the only reason he got benched. Dormady was a mess on the field!

Dormady looks weak to me. No muscle tone. He needs to get serious in the weight room. Just a novice opinion and observation.

And he seriously has some of the worst mechanics I’ve ever seen of a QB at this level. It was ridiculous. Hopefully he gets coached up but this job is JGs to lose.
