Dormady's playing time.

Dobbs is the CEO. Young Dormady needs to be ready to step in and close out the games, no pulled punches, with him being that good we will be running up the score on several opponents. Getting game experience, will be great in his development. Dobbs stays healthy we keep winning. GO VOLS! WIN em ALL!

I really believe there's a group of people that do not wanna see Dobbs succeed. Or is it starting Qbs?

I love Dobbs as the face of our program and really want him to succeed. However, I do see some flaws in his game (that he's hopefully improved since bowl season) and am not above pumping the brakes on him as a Heisman candidate or potential NFL prospect.

But just because he has some flaws in his game doesn't mean he isn't the leader this team needs right now or that he can't take this team a long way.

Sounds like Dobbs has improved his accuracy according to the OC. Maybe QD is pushing him.

I want to get your opinions on this. I think there is a possibility that Dormady gets thrown into some games. I am talking a couple of series a game. He is fast and could bring a different element to our offense. He is more of a deep ball thrower and tends to run downhill more than Dobbs. This is absolutely not a knock on Dobbs. I think Dobbs will have a good season. Dormady just may be too good to stay off the field. Go Vols!

I hope that's the case for his deep passing game, but I'll believe it when I see it. I don't think having a big arm that can make all the throws will ever be a strong suit of Dobbs. But that's ok. We can be successfule regardless.

Naaah. Hopefully, he passes Dobbs by the opener, averages passing for over 500ypg, 200ypg running, no ints, spanks OU, UF, undefeated first 6 games, Heisman frontrunner, before the Pats dump Brady and work a trade for the kid.
It can always be better.:)

I'm not going to argue with your thinking. I'm just amazed at the amount of people that think Dormady will usurp Dobbs by midseason based off his spring game performance.

You will understand it if you think of it like this:

the amount of people who think Dormady will usurp Dobbs is relative to the amounts of beers they done drunk multiplied by the number of brain cells lost.

Preston Williams aced this on his ACT.

What amount is it up to?

My opinion is that you are about to get absolutely TRASHED for still misspelling this kids name after he has been on the roster for 8 months

I don't know how you guys even notice anymore. I've seen it so many times now that I just read right through it

You get two likes? Dormady is a pocket passer. Like Jerry said, you lost me at fast.

Dormady, at 6'4 215-220 has said he runs 4.7....that's pretty fast. Additionally, he was timed 4.14 in his shuttle time, which is an elite time. Can anybody seriously say he's as good as or better runner than Dobbs? Absolutely not, that'd be ridiculous. But the kid very athletic.

The back-up QB is always the best player on the field. Until of course, he gets thrown into a game and struggles, then the next back-up QB is the best player. Didn't everyone know that??

Same story, different season.

Dormady will be a good one eventually, but anyone who thinks he could even carry Dobb's jock as a true freshmen needs to get his/her head out of the sand.

Why....because he's tall and white? He ran a multiple offense in High school. He ran THIS offense as a senior. His 40 and shuttle times were on par with Dobbs coming out of high school....and he was bigger.

I just wish people would let Butch decide what QB fits his "system"....I'm pretty sure he has a handle on it.

Dobbs NEEDS to be the guy for this team. I hope he is, but it will be because he's been in the system, and has the experience.....not because QD is not mobile enough.

Dormady will be the starter by 3/4 the way through the season. You heard it here first. Dude is seriously the real deal.

I want some of whatever you are smoking...hope that was suppost to be blue font. The only way Dormady starts any game is if Dobbs gets hurt...this conversation is going to go on for 2 years isn't it? Dobbs is our QB this year and our QB next year, doubt he leaves for the NFL and Dormady won't beat him out either year. Dobbs is the "real deal", right now Dormady is like that girl you always wanted and wondered what it would be like to be with her. Sometimes you should just be happy cause you have a good thing already. I hope we don't have to see Dormady or S. Jones this year except in mop up duty. Go Vols!!!

Dormady and Dobbs times are on par and Dormady is bigger than Dobbs as a freshman.....but to say that Dobbs is only the starter because he's been in the system longer is a stretch. QD is a fine athlete but not on par with Dobbs as of now, Dobbs will be our QB for 2 years, Dormady will have a hard time uprooting him next year because of the success we will experience this year.

Dormady may be a good QB some day either here or somewhere else (If he doesn't get a shot here) but He will sit behind Dobbs until Dobbs gets a serious injury or has no more eligibilty left. Butch knows what works for his system, I may have missed it but I don't recall anyone saying he didn't fit the system?

The bottom line is we have a pretty good (potentially a great QB) and everyone is worried about the back up getting playing time. How about we all worry about winning 8-10 games this year and competing in the SEC. We will be arguing about Dormady and playing time for the next 2 years. Go Vols!!!
