Dormady making 'tremendous progress'

As it stands right now, you are correct, but anything and I me anything can happen.

Also, Dormady is way more "athletic" and can move in this offense better than anyone thought.

Also, the new OC has a long history with the Dormady type QBs....

It would take a serious preseason injury to Dobbs for Dormady to win the #1QB spot to start the season. It's been great to read the reports about QD in practice so far, and I agree with you that he is legit, and his time will come, either at UT or somewhere else. But this is Dobbs' team to start the season.

It is crazy to think Dormady will start over Dobbs. Dobbs has the experience, cerebral, and the mobile advantage. Having years in the same system is a huge advantage for the QB position.

Dormady is very impressive as a true freshman with his throws. His throws are just as good as Dobbs. I really hope we can redshirt Dormady this year, so we have more than two years with him.

Dormady is just one play away from becoming the starter for Tennessee?
WoW! Just WoW!

Mmmm....Cletus, didn't your Savior command you to treat others in a Christ-like manner? I'm fairly confident Christ never told anyone else to 'shut their sacrilege up,' or otherwise treat them in such a fashion. Turn your swords into plowshares, Cletus!

No, no, no, no, no. And no. Enough with the "may never start," "may never even play here," "think he will transfer" encouragement, John R. As far as you or any of the rest of us know, Dormady, Jennings, and Jones all have an equal shot at the #2 job, and in a couple of years at being starter for the Vols. So enough negative Nelly on him. :)

Not being negative there is a good chance that 2 of them will never start here...simple math. 1 spot= 1 QBs we have 3. Someone will never start and someone will transfer. it could be Dormandy or either one of the other 2. Heck neither of the 3 freshman may ever start if we land a big time recruit in 16. Not negative just realistic. JMO.

And Coach DeBord did say yesterday that the QB competition is open again, no front runner. So apparently Dormady is doing that well, because we know Dobbs is looking strong.

Anybody who believes that the quarterback job is open has rocks in their head , including Debord

Heh, sorry about that. It doesn't seem fair, me "April Fool"ing you five days later. A weakness of April Fools pranks in this medium, I suppose. In any case, yeah, as KB said, I just made that up for April 1st, it's utterly and completely untrue. :)

Dobb's is the reason this team wins 10+ this season. If he is injured then it's just another average season. The last QB we had that learned fast enough to step in and be ready mid season was Peyton. :lolabove:

And Dobbs is part of the reason QD will be ready to step in as needed, if needed, to keep this an above avg season.

My moneys on QD as Dobbs heir apparent
Cannon and wheels.

A little too early for this...There are 2 other quarterbacks in this class who were very highly rated. My money would be on Jones but it is still way too early for that. Dormandy will probably leave spring (Since Jones isn't even on campus) as the #2 but may not hold onto it by fall. We do have a bright future at QB no matter who is the heir apparent.

Is it too early to say Dormady will transfer? Because you've done that very thing in previous posts.

To quote Bill Clinton, "I don't have any recollection" of praise by the coaches on any QB in the past two years, let alone a freshman.

i just said not to get too hyped he may not even be here in 2 years... i think he has the talent to play just maybe not here. JMO. i would say atleast one of them will not be here in 2 years. Jones is for real so either him or Dormandy won't be here in my Opinion. If Jennings doesn't get the start i do believe that he will move positions and stay at UT. Jennings is a qb until then and has a shot at the QB job later. so to answer your question no its not too early to say that about Dormandy. someone will probably be transfering i am just betting it is Dormandy and not Jones, Butch Jones went after Jones even though he had Dormandy already signed so he obviously sees something in Jones as well. I am putting my money on Jones that is all i am saying.
