The way Botch has mis-managed talent, I wouldn't be surprised if Will McBride was actually the most talented QB on the roster.

Haven't seen anything from JG to make me think he should be starting.

Pretty obvious our qbs are getting terrible coaching and no development.

Jones said Mcbride is one snap away from being 2nd qb. not sure whos position he is coming close to overtaking but he should be moved to Starter if anything.

at this point I would direct snap it to calloway, byrd, or Kelly. At least this way we shouldn't throw too many interceptions. New offense "Direct leadership snap and clear, brick by brick"

QB coaching is a nightmare. Dobbs never got better at throwing the ball during his entire time here. He actually seemed to regress in that department. He could have went to NY for the Heisman award last year if he'd been able to throw it more than 15 yards consistently.

I figured they'd probably start JG this game but honestly, QD might be that much better than him during practice. I would be upset with this but JG hasn't shown he can be any much better.

Don't start with the QD is bangin his relative BS because that's a dumb excuse. If BJ wants to keep his job which I'm sure he does, he'll play the better player... no reason he'd hurt his career anymore over a college relationship.

Well, here's to hoping QD can make good decisions and not pass in triple coverage 🍻

FWIW, depth charts don't mean much. I still suspect JG will start.

The only way to know for sure is if someone sees practice today and can tell who gets the starter's reps.

Hard to make accurate throws running for your life. I look at all the QB's who have left us. Peterman - did great at Pitt, Ferguson - killing it at Memphis. I honestly think both these guys in a well coached system would be ok. You don't make it to the SEC at the QB position because you're terrible.

This staff has mismanaged every QB that has been through UT in the last 5 years.

So you either believe neither guy has talent and both guys are stupid... or just maybe the scheme isn't very good, Jones is stubborn, the inexperienced WR's are killing the passing game,... and the OL is still bad in Jones' 5th year.

Half of our starting D line reads “MacKenzie Phillips”. Just makes me laugh a little, if you’re in your 40s you should get it.

And what have you seen from QD that shows he is reliable at QB?

Come on man, this is crap and everyone knows it. Jones was never going to make a switch to JG, he is going to lose his job because of his stubbornness in backing QD.

Can you imagine how good Dobbs would have been if he had competent coaches? It tears me up to say this, but if he went to Ohio State or Alabama the kid would have won a national title and probably a Heisman.

Both are talented. Both are smart.
The scheme definitely sucks. But it's a combination of a lot of things and poor decision making.

Dormandy Should be the starter. He has actually WON games! Nobody can play their best when they are constantly being jerked around! The Guy throws a pretty ball. JG can't throw OR Run. Period. What is the attraction? The Tats? omg. Ain't too much football smarts in here. The Staff and FANS need to support the best option we have at winning a game!

The point is, we haven't seen enough from JG to really tell if there is anything there or not.

We've seen FIVE games with QD at the helm.

We've seen what FIVE series with JG at the helm? And in situations that really make you wonder why the coaches put him in there.

We KNOW QD isn't good, we don't know if JG is good or not.
