I really dont know and next week will tell the story. I can say this, that vanilla thing needs to be kicked to the curb. It almost cost us the game if in fact thats what happened. I do hope Butch intentionally ran a vanilla scheme. Because if not.....

Actually agree. Most top programs lay a whipping to their tune-up teams to fine tune their scheme.

Go back and watch UT vs UC, Cincinnati passed the ball as well as they ran the ball we just out muscled them. This offense must have a passing game, without that we're just 9th best in SEC even with our talent. Butch's UC teams did throw the quick slant, they did overload line of scrimmage on short yardage plays, they did throw to TE, they threw to Kimbrell Thompkins 5 times on one drive. I'm not sure what we've been running but it's not the same he ran at UC

Butch admitted that the team did not hit enough in camp. The OL was not ready and got smacked in the face. They will be ready next week. I hope. The coaches have no confidence in Dobbs passing. They let him throw 10 yd passes and no more. DB's are not afraid of the deep pass becasue we never throw it.

First some ppl pleaded for us not to run up score ✔️
Dobbs threw int. Made some freshman decisions that could have been 3 more TO,
OL was terrible but some times if u go back and rewatch
If Dobbs had not retreated he had guys breaking open he just don't seem to be able to stand in there and throw to where receivers will be. There's no trust or lack of confidence.

This right here^^^ So is it Debord then that has changed the offensive game plan? Or is Butch waiting to have a better passing qb in his system?

If we ever want to recruit marquis receivers and qb's to Tennessee, we have to show a willingness to commit to a significant passing attack.
Our passing game is an after thought. I firmly believe in a strong rushing attack, but it needs to be balanced with a deep threat to keep defense softer.
We will never be a deep ball threat with Dobbs. EVER

Give JG a shot. I reckon Debord can't simplify the offense more than it already is. He'd only have to run ten plays.
