for a dual quarterback plan?.
For now, we are a one dimensional offense. This will not work in the SEC. Hurd run, Hurd run, Hurd run, give me a break.
Dobbs cannot throw accurately passed fifteen yards.
Our play calling is so predictable it is pathetic. No surprises, no trick plays, nothing!.

it won't matter who the qb is if we can't protect him just a little bit. the entire offense was awful last night, and they have find a way to become better on 1st down. as of right now, the same problems that affected the offense last year....seem to exist still, and dare i say, be worse.

I think it's time to scrap Dobbs all together except for some wild cat/ option running. We need a true passer not a runner that can sporadically throw the ball.

See my thread dobbs vs Butch and I don't know if it's time but I think maybe a 2 qb package dobbs as a wr or rb that's really what he is

I am as critical as they come when it comes to Dobbs and his accuracy issues, but he gives us the best chance to win. Throwing Dormady out there in a "dual quarterback" situation would be dumb. There is also not a chance in hell that we would go with a 2 QB system.

You all do remember that Worley was on a death bed behind a bad offensive line and Dobbs came in and made them look a lot better, right?

A pro-style quarterback with this line better make sure he takes out a life insurance policy.

Calm down. It was one game.

This question is very dumb, stupid and anything else that can be said. I hope we don't put up with this thinking the whole season.:banghead2::censored::spank:

If you have two QBs you don't have one. It's a rhythm position and ask Roger Staubach if he's a fan. If we switch from Dobbs, we've given up on the season.

Thegame plan was obviously to limit Dobbs as a runner. To say they went vanilla is an understatement.

Go back and watch our first drive again. There was a nice balance of runs and passes. We marched right down feild and would have walked is with a TD is Williams had held on.

After that the offense kinda hung their heads.

You also have to credit App St's down feild coverage. When Dobbs did have time to sit back and throw there was nowhere to go.

Lots of things to work on bit switching QBs is not the easy fix.

I said this last week, and still believe it. Any benefit that Dormady gives us in passing accuracy is heavily outweighed by what Dobbs gives us by being as mobile and elusive as he is. Dobbs masks a lot of serious issues we have with our OL. The play-calling was atrocious last night and didn't put our team in the best position to win. I think we thought we could just run over them without having to show much. That's all fine and dandy when you're playing North Texas, but App State is not a bad football team. I'm not sure if that plan was Butch or Debord, but it goes back to Butch anyway. That was a serious blunder. Yeah, you want to do what you can to protect Dobbs, but at some point you have to let Dobbs be Dobbs.

At least last night, you could have put Jesus at QB and even he would have been running for his life. So its waaaaaay to early to start calling for a QB backup plan.

Let's see what happens at VT and go from there.

I think the lack of a solid passing game is a combination of several things..

Dobbs throwing ability certainly is one of the main factors. Play calling last night was terrible and predictable. The offensive line was beaten in most every way possible. Decision making and accuracy has to get better.

I understand the offensive system is built around a mobile QB, but I'd like to see what Dormady could do if this offense struggles this bad again..

I don't see Dobbs has the issue, I see the issue with coaching. In some games Dobbs has been told not to run, you can't run this offense if the QB is not going to run.

No, it's not time for Dormady. He would've gotten his neck broken last night.

Hate to say it, but I strongly agree with one thing D4H has said often....the play calling was horrific and gave Dobbs no chance to be dynamic or successful. No slants, no seam routes, no back shoulder throws, absolutely nothing up the field with the exception of the TD throw to Malone, which was the one time we actually threw deep. I just don't get it. Too damn predictable and unimaginative. Play calling and subsequently the results on first down was horrific. If Dobbs is your QB then let him play.

On second thought, if Butch is gonna continue with this "I don't trust my senior, dark horse Heisman candidate and 2nd team all-SEC QB", then maybe they should just bench him and go with somebody else. What we saw last night was utter coaching malpractice.
