The LA Times is reporting Boise State coach Chris Petersen is their first choice, followed by Texas Tech's Mike Leach and Steve Mariucci.

If I were Peterson, I wouldn't even take the time to pack my bags if UCLA offered...I'd just jump on a jet and fly straight there.

I don't believe UCLA will pay the kind of money to get peterson. He's going to want a significant raise over bsu. also his assistants will need significant raises because of hte cost of living issues and UCLA has a history of paying assistants poorly. Mariucci makes sense only because he's coached in the pac-10 (not particurally well though) and he should be cheaper than peterson. Leach would take the job but i think he has a $2 mil buyout. No way ucla pays that and then pays him another $2 mil a year. History says UCLA only pays it's basketball coaches (and players :))

Right on droski. From an article in today's LAT:

Moreover, UCLA will have to pay their coaches more. Karl Dorrell's salary, about $850,000 a year, was considered a bargain in an era of $1-million hires. The low-ball salaries UCLA tends to pay assistant coaches deter the best talent from moving their families to costly Los Angeles.

Add Jim Mora Jr to the list of candidates. And apparently Dorrell is up for the Duke job.

Don't see why a PAC 10 school would list Jim Mora, Jr. on their list of candidates when he has stated UW is his dream job.
