I think it's funny that you posted that because I'm going to grad school at UGA.

Be prepared to leave Athens in 2-3 years hating absolutely everything about UGA athletics. I used to support them pretty much every other game than the UT game, but now the only redeeming thing about that school's athletic program is Richt (and yes, I suppose, Garner)

The Twelve Rich White Men That Run Things In Knoxville call in their markers. Hamilton is fired. Fulmer becomes A.D., Cutcliffe becomes head coach.

It's not entirely out of the question. And if it happens, I'm out. Seriously. Out.

if that happens, i will cheer for bama or the gators....

Are you guys Vols or just only around in the good times? So many of you saying you are "out" is like I accidentally stumbled upon a message board for USC.

<rant

I have been a die hard fan since I was in the 6th grade literally living for Saturdays in the Fall. I have scheduled my son's birthday party (9/13) around the UF game more than once, my wife will typically schedule family outings around bye weeks etc. As far as fans go, I have been as dedicated to this team as any non-alumni could be (including being crushed when my parents told me out-of-state tuition was not an option)

As I said earlier my feelings are more about the state of college football. I have been listening and reading about the "business" of college football. Des Howard seemed perfectly content saying there isn't an issue with Kiffin leaving like this because that is what college football has become.

He's right, college football is no longer about getting an education, competition or fair play. College football has become (I know that it was this way before, but has only been getting worse) about the rich getting richer (i.e. no playoff), coaching contracts that have little to no resemblance of a real contract (although in Kiffin's case Hamilton made another contract error), and game of who can lie the best to recruits.

I posted this yesterday on my facebook account and it still rings with me today...how can the NCAA allow a coach to come into a program, kick players off the team, revoke scholarships, tell kids to come to a school then walk away without any penalty all in the same year. What in the world does that teach our young people? How is ruining a young person's life because they don't "fit" the system and then bolting months later any different that locking a kid in a closet for a few hours? And it absolutely burns at me that O can call recruits during a dead period and offer them a scholarship to USC. How is the NCAA not all over that?!?!

Sorry for the rant this early in the AM, but in all honesty, before any of this happened I was still getting burned out on the idea that there is not a playoff. There is no doubt in my mind that the best team in the nation has not always won the BCS NC. What's the point of selling kids on the idea of fair and competitive play when it just flat isn't that way?

Okay then.

If they hire Mike Leach's pirate as HC, CUM's dog as OC, and Saban's cat as DC, I'm in.

V,B!

Wow with the exception of a few that was the saddest collection of post I may have ever seen in my life.

I'm not at all for hiring Cutcliffe as hc. I think we need to go in a different direction but...

Good to see if it did happen we would clean a great deal of turds out of the fan base. Maybe this site would be tolerable.

Dude, I don't give a damn who we hire, I'll still be a Vol fan. The only thing in the balance here is my psychological health.

I also do not feel like I could support another Fulmer regime, and that includes Cutcliffe being the coach.

I agree When they were together before they couldnt get the job done. They had alot of talent then and couldnt beat Fla,Alabama,Georgia, then

There could be worse things than hiring the man who brought us a National Title who holds the loyalty of his players and loves our school to oversee the man who mentored Peyton and Eli Manning who is considered one of the best QB minds in the game.

I think you are more likely to see Pat Summitt as AD than Phil. I do think that Hamiltard is on his last leg at UT though. I also think that if there was a strong president he would have been gone already. Or any president for that matter. Correct me if I'm wrong but is there no president right now? We have had what, 4 presidents in the last several years? Why does nobody want to take the reigns of this institution? Why does nobody want to step up and take charge and do what needs to be done? Is UT so awful on the inside of the board room that they can't get someone in there who will have the guts to do the job? This isn't the end of the world people. Yes, it's a major setback, but UT will recover. Making countless threads about how peeved you are at the previous regime only serves to validate his importance. Let him go. He showed his true colors, and they aren't orange and white.

If the so-called "Twelve Rich White Men" had that much pull, Fulmer would still be the coach. He never would have been fired in the first place.

Hamilton's got this hire. But he'd better get it right, or Fulmer will be the next AD.

I say put in Pat Summitt as AD. She's tough and all-Vol. I think she could kick some serious ass and get us a good coach.
