People keep complaining about the "3" stars that Dooley is going hard after & the ones he took the last class, IMO looks like Dooley actually knows how to evaluate talent unlike the "coaches" that post on here.

Tom Smith - offered & committed at camp, Florida, Miami, & Michigan came after him late into the season

Jordan Williams - offered at camp & committed during the season, Florida & Miami pushed hard for him late in the season

Brian Randolph - offered & committed early last summer, was named Gatorade Player Of The Year in the state of GA & also voted the most feared hitter in the state. Disgrace he didnt earn a 4* rating

Christian Harris - offered & committed at Jr. day, Clemson & Georgia Tech came after him hard during the season

Mack Crowder - offered by Dooley, Florida came in right after & tried to snag.

Justin Coleman - offered & committed to UT over UK, some people actually complained about it, but then he picks up a 4* rating after a great SR season & now everyone thinks he was a great pickup

Juda Parker - showed out at a camp, Dooley offers he commits on the spot even though he didnt end up a Vol he was named a Army All-American & played good in the game.

Imani Cross - committed at Jr day & some people didnt like it, now he is getting courted by other BCS schools.

Khalid Henderson - came to camp earned an offer & then committed a week later, now rated a 4* on ESPN & everyone thinks he can contribute now.

But Dooley is in over his head & cant recruit all he wants are good kids that have high GPA's, he isnt worried about getting talent. :eek:lol:

Jmoore, you can try to convince some people all you want, but they will never be satisfied!

Personally, I am not worried at all about Dooley and Co. when it comes to recruiting! All we need are some W's in the Win column and the recruiting will take care of itself.

That is some good info and I would bet that, by the end of the season, there will be some other recruits who will prove to be solid SEC level talent!

People are just dumb. It is truly hilarious that they think they know more about a kid than a college coach that watches and evaluates them.

The question of Dooley's talent evaluation will be answered in wins and loses. I like Dooley though and believe he will have Tennessee winning again in the next couple of years.

I trust his evaluation skills. He also has a knack for getting players that are easy to pull for imo. I hope he can overhaul the D-Line this year like he did the secondary last year. Waiting until January to pull in big D-Line commits might drive me insane.

Dooley and Company know a thing or two about the talent necessary for their vision of winning Volunteer Football. The 2011 Class meets that standard well. The question now concerns the 2010 Class. We know about the heralded players they closed. But what about Sapp, Crump, Propst, and M. Jackson? The team needs those guys on the field this year...going eyeball to eyeball, toe to toe, heart to heart, gut to gut...against the best in the SEC.

Thanks for the info Jmoore. Too many people want to jump on/criticize every recruit. I think we will have a much better year this season and 2012 we should really be set. It's not just how much talent you have but what you do with it and how you develop the guys. We are going to be just fine with Dooley and this staff.

My main questions are what about those four guys Dooley took at the end of the class of 2010...Crump, Propst,Jackson, and Sapp....are they expected to contribute at all this year? This to me would be an excellent sign that even with guys Dooley was forced to take because of needing bodies and depth...that he can still find decent contributors.

IMO those guys wont wow you or be studs, I think they are depth fillers.

I think they'll all see the field. Propst will definitely contribute. Knowing the system will get the others reps. Don't forget about special teams too.

This. They are role players for the most part...I think Jackson and Crump have potential though. Jackson def looks the part for a RS frosh.

I'm not concerned about his talent evaluation. He has plenty of help with that. I'm more interested in how he runs the program, how assembles/manages his staff, if he can coach them up to win some games and make a run at the SEC championship @ every 3 years.

Good thread, jmoore. I agree. The really good thing is that most everybody wants CDD to succeed and bring us back to glory. Can't say the same thing about Kiffin even when he was coaching here.

All is well in Dooleyville.

Another solid post jmoore.

Love reading your post bro, especially the ones concerning recruiting. I'm sick of the know it alls on here complaining about Dooleys recruiting. Including his time as recruiting coordinator at LSU and HC here, he's done nothing but prove he can recruit. His recruiting here so far has been nothing short of spectacular considering what he was left with here. Call me a koolaid drinker but I think Dooley is gonna surprise this year with his winning and recruiting!! GBO!!!

Propst is set to be the starting MLB against Montana right now.

Someone could take that away from him in fall camp.

Crump is a pretty good ST player.

Sapp is a solid #2 guy. I don't think he'll start but he won't be a huge weakness of he is forced into a starting role.
