Anyone else notice the subtle swipes at Kiffin? He about others talking about "assembling the best staff in America" and he referenced "running a disciplined program that is committed to following the rules". I like him so far. We'll see what is staff looks like, how he recruits, and how well his team plays on Saturdays.

Well at least the SEC and NCAA front offices will like the 'follow' the rules comment

You guys are amazing...he was not taking "swipes" at Kiffin. He was telling you how he will do things.
Like CDD said, "we are not worried about the past".

Mike Slive may just develop a new bromance.

I thought the same thing when I read: "I can guarantee you that we are going to represent this program with integrity and class.". Two things that you never have to promise under normal circumstances. And coincidentally two of the biggest things Kiffin doesn't have.

I am very impressed so far.
He is classy and from what I hear, has a 1 strike policy.

I think he was taking a few subtle jabs. In addition to the answers about staff and running the program, he mentioned embracing the traditions, the importance of the University and realizing that Tennessee is one of the best programs in the country. it was probably more for the fan base and players than for soundbites. He is a lawyer. He knows how to sway people to his side.

I think the "best staff in the country" stuff was in reference to Kiffin. He is telling the fanbase that he is not going to have a complete all-star staff because too many chiefs doesn't work in his opinion. We aren't going to have a staff with all the rock stars we had last time, and he wants us to be ready for that it seems to me.

He swayed me. I was really dreading this hire when I first heard about it. However, after hearing the presser, I'm on board. I like what he said about earning trust and such. If he wins, he'll earn mine.

No question he was referencing recent problems with his references to integrity, following rules and class. Quick references to Majors and Fulmer to re-unite all who have been allienated the past year. Young, energetic, organized, focused with a real interest and dedication to what has made us Tennessee. GBO.

I don't think he was taking swipes as much as just differentiating himself from the past regime. And perhaps attempting to reassure the fans and players.

He appears to be a class act and a straight shooter. Very business-like. I think I like him.

I did not see much of a Lawyer speaking tendency; I can tell you he was not lying at all.

I dont know that they were swipes necessarily, but the guy is sharp as a whip. So I figure he has read an article or two about what's gone on. Clearly he knows about "what's happened"....and "it's over".....love it!! He almost quoted my most favorite quote....."the most successful people are the ones that dust themselves off after adversity and move on"......cept he said "britches".....

Time will tell....but I like him.

Go Big Orange!
