Dooley's job is not on the line in Starkville...

No and no. We are "loosing" this year because of our mistakes instead of just not being good enough physically. We now have played two excellent teams increasingly better each time. There is improvement. But we are not a top 5 team yet. UGA LSU Bama & South Carolina are. Florida is on defense. We still need playmakers on both sides of the ball. Georgia should have won easily. They did not because we fought the entire game. We are not there yet but today was encouraging. Feels a lot different than after the Florida game. You have to respect 44 at Georgia. Let's see that get topped the rest of the way, by anyone.

I admire your optimism. I just saw a pick six, and two drives that started, what, inside the 15? I'm not trying to be argumentative, but I felt we actually outplayed FL and just let it get away from us. I felt like GA was miles ahead of us, and we just kept getting breaks to stay around. Maybe I'm wrong, wouldn't be the first time today

I think you're right. That game should have been over in the second quarter. The Marshall fumble in particular was a gift, as was the Murray fumble.

I'll give the D credit for getting a hand up and deflecting the Murray pass that turned into a pick 6, but it might have been intercepted anyway because that was an awful decision by Murray to throw to the covered receiver in the flat, especially considering he wasn't pressured on that play.

That game was winnable only because Georgia literally handed them the chance to get back it. That game should not have been close. Georgia fans should be concerned about their team after that game, especially on defense. Tennessee has trouble running against Akron at home last week, and Neal had his best game of the year against Georgia.

yeah ..UGA gave us alot of breaks ...but we gave them more

We will be inconsistant running the ball until we quite telling the defense everytime that we are gonna run based on the formation that we are ! The think about a 'balanced' offense is not just being 50-50 ...its goes deeper...the D cant know if its pass or run. Hence my reference to play action ..they ultimate trick play

They ran better tonight because they committed to it . Still though , formation stupidity was in abundance

How many times has Vandy barely lost??

What does that have to do with anything? Barely losing to good teams is good enough at a school like Vanderbilt.

Despite an almost complete lack of success at Vanderbilt, they've only had 4 different head coaches since 1997, and one of those was a 1 year interim (Robbie Caldwell) after Johnson unexpectedly resigned. None of them have been officially fired; they all resigned (Widenhofer, Johnson, Caldwell).

If we lose to Miss St. (Which we shouldn't), this game won't carry much weight if we win. If we were to lose this game, I think they'd hold a presser the following Monday.
That would be incredibly dumb.
Right before Alabama like that? That is basically like forfeiting. Last time we fired a coach mid-season, Wyoming beat us.
If we were to do that right before a win that could save the season, that would be about the most stupid thing I have ever seen. And I have seen some pretty ignorant ****.

If Dooleyn goes 0-5 to Fla., Georgia, Miss. State, Bama, and South Carolina and the seats are half empty in November. Dooley wont be here in December.

Well, we learned that we can play into the 4th quarter on the road. We learned that even though we didn't win we do belong. If we continue to improve we should see some wins and yes I think we can pull an upset this year. All depends what the team does with the fire from these 2 losses. Hopefully, they circle the wagons get back to work and continue to improve. I know this has been tough but we will get back to where we need to be. Now go make some cowbells quiet. GBO.

Sorry to go off topic, but I'm interested in hearing what about other ignorant **** you have seen?

No way around it, the game in Starkville is huge. A win sets up all kinds of opportunities. A week off, the Vols match up well.

The table is set.
