Dooley's future is based on one thing

People really need to take a deep breath. In 3 years here, Chaney has had a 1k rusher twice. Thus, the argument that his offense cannot have a running game is inaccurate, because we have had at least a decent running game twice in three years.

This passing offense looked like it was going to be the best in the SEC going into the Florida game. We just could never get over the injury to Hunter, because aside from Darick we didn't have another receiver that scared anybody.

Assuming we fix the running issue (can't be this bad two years in a row), Hunter comes back, the freshman develop, and we land Patterson, why would you not expect the offense to be great next year with Chaney as OC?

Its obvious CDD is NOT the guy that will lead us to SEC Championships. He WON'T get it done. Make a change now sure he deserves more time but anyone with a brain already knows that in 2-3 more years we'll be making a change if we let CDD stay go ahead get it over with several schools have fired there coach after two years b/c the writing was already on the wall. SPEND the money and get a top notch coach not one with a losing record from the WAC.

-he didn't show an ability to adapt or help his players this year and hindered them at many times.
-if a successful offense is based on deep, difficult throws to the sidelines, the good teams will catch on to the patterns and formations quickly. Relying on those passes in the SEC is recipe for disaster.

Those things have to change. 4 and 5 wide with an immobile qb isn't going to get us anywhere unless there is some balance.

Dooley's future comes down to two things; wins and losses. Has nothing to do with the offensive coordinator. Charlie Manson could be the offensive coordinator and as long as the Vols are running, Dooley has a job. We need a primetime bowl next season.

Maybe I missed something, but I didn't think anyone was taking this position. But this team did not have a well balanced offensive attack this year, and I believe that had to have a big effect on pre game scheming.

His upcoming decision in regards to the OC will determine his wins and losses because it will determine the offense and points. That's the point. It has everything to do with it. The wrong decision will equal bad results and the right decision will equal good results, or wins.
