Dooleys future depends on fixing one big problem...

The running game is a two fold problem right now.

The infusion of (possible) JUCO talent to the DL and how that works out is a big question.

Secondary still has a lot of work to do.

Ive been meaning to ask, but I grew up in Cheatham County. Are you in northern or southern?

I've said this more than once this year, and I stand by it. Pass blocking is more about technique, run blocking is attitude and toughness. Our OL is soft, it's not all the coaches fault. CHH has put many OL in the pros, so he knows how to coach the OL. If you don't think Marcus Jackson ( a true freshman) being the strongest OL on the team (when he got here) is a major problem, then i don't know what to tell ya.

nail on the head right here. hopefully these kids can get sec strong... should be able to with one more year of age and weight room

I totally agree with the OP and though o-line was the key to this year too bad i was kinda right.. the guys were just too young

Yup... he's got to have JUCO help on defense... and I'd really appreciate seeing what Wilcox can do with personnel. Hard to see much that exudes hope at this point.

For the run game.. he's got to pay a lot of attention to strength and development of th OL this off season.

Chaney really needs to go and fast. He was a left over from the two previous coaches and we need to have them all gone....There are some good OCs out there who can beef up our productivity and win....

seriously, that stuff cracks me up.. I think it's funny to assume that if the QB checks into the right play, it's an automatic big-gainer. Contrarly to popular belief, our run game was only marginally better with Simms @ QB.

The bottom line is that we have not showed the ability (even against the likes of Montana and MTSU) to line up toe-to-toe and run smash-mouth power football straight up the gut. That is a major red flag, and without some major changes, I don't see it improving that significantly.

Not disagreeing but why do most of the posters expect those freshmen & sophs to perform like 5th yr seniors? If anyone hasn't noticed we're REBUILDNG (basically from scratch) and we're now just ENTERING our 3rd year. Does anybody really think we can rotate 8-10 guys like LSU or BAMA? Spurrier didn't turn around USCe until he had a full complement of his recruits and who among us think he can't coach--didn't say like him--just said coach.
