I think will see what kind of TEAM we have after a bad loss
How well will they bounce back or will they stop trying
Will the kids still buy in and give it there all?

I like Dooley, he seems like a good guy, but if it's in the 2nd half of a close game against a quality opponent, we've got no chance and that falls back on him. I know he inherited a mess, but we were mediocre when he got here and we're mediocre now, where's the improvement?

Cd is gone.. he suxs n this team will lay down rest of the year.. he lost to Kent....peeps u don't coach TN n get beat by Kent..ever.. I could beat Kent with a bunch of girls..

Lol, no, I'm on your side, at least as a Vol. just have to hold the coach accountable. This is the third year, he's built a nice roster... But still got to win he games and not fold like a cheap suit. I gave him a pass last year because of general youth, inexperience and injuries but this continuing theme of sucking hind tit in the second half points to the leader at this point.

The standard for me is some demonstration that considerable progress has been made.

This defeat kills all momentum and morale built from the quality performance against NC State.

Based on this, we'll struggle to get 3 wins in the conference.

I was hoping, and still hope, for a conference record at least at .500 with a quality win against a ranked opponent as one of those victories.

He's got this year. And if things aren't markedly better by the end of the year, then no one can rationalize bringing him back for another season of more of the same.

we don't have the players! The defense sucks! The punter sucks! The running backs suck! The place kicker sucks! The only things we have are recievers and quarterbacks!

Tenn. had enough talent. Tenn. had the home field and even the lead at the half. The Vols choked. God bless 'em but they did. The three best playmakers either had multiple drops or threw the ball out of bounds more times than anyone since Heath Shuler in the '92 Bama game. This team fell apart after Florida tied the game and the coaches were ineffective in fixing it. Why not call a time out after that Burton run to settle the team down? Instead we go to the locker room at the end of the game with all three timeouts. You may say we had to save them in case we needed them for a late drive, but if you get down by 14 or 21 it wont matter anyway.

Does anyone realize that we HAD to hire Dooley because no other college coach would take the job? It was late Jan. and right in the middle of recruiting season so we were desperate. Usually decisions done in desparation lead to failure. Dooley has only 1 win (Cinncinatti 2011) over a team that finished over .500 since he became head coach at La. Tech in 2007. Dooley is a heck of a recruiter but beyond that... Some vol fans will get angry to hear that Dooley should only be a coordinator and isnt head coach material. Just remember never get so locked into a coach that you cant see his flaws. Can you can believe some people didnt want to fire Bill Battle or Wade Houston? Some people support a coach no matter what. Dont' believe me Dooley is that bad a coach? Then get on Wikipedia and search Derek Dooley. Calculate the records of all the teams he beat. It may suprise you.

Gonna have to agree there. When you look back, it's hard to fault the hire. Muschamp had said no... Heck, the freakin Air Force coach told us no!!! A guy wouldn't leave Air Force for Tennessee! If that doesn't sum up the state of the program, I'm not sure what does.

But just because the hire is defensible under the given circumstances doesn't mean it isn't time for Dooley to go. Because it is.

These are all Dooley's players. The "we have no talent" exuse is done. We had the players to compete we just didnt and that falls on the coaches.

Looking at the schedule, CDD can easily go 8-4 or 9-3 this year.

If he does that... he stays as HC. Plain and simple.
