I've said it in other threads, and I'll say it again, Tennessee played pretty well tonight. Oregon has far superior talent, and you had no business expecting to win this game. It's going to take at least a couple years just to get enough good players in to compete.

You may be too young to post here.....is he a failure to you if he doesnt meet your expectation of a win ni every game?

Sorry, just frustrating having only seen Tennessee at it's worst and hearing about how good we WERE. Just in a bad mood.
Np. It's just going to take time. We have 3 more true scholarship players than Alabama did at the low point of their probation.

Man I feel ya. My oldest memories were sitting on the couch with my dad with my Peyton Manning jersey on watching the game. That was when almost every game was a win unless we were playing Florida. We'll be back soon. before youre out of High school we should be back

Ok. The sky is falling. We are playing the number 7 team in the nation who will probably win the Pac 10 and be a BCS contender. We flat out got beat. We are young. We are emotional. We are too shallow. We are too slow. They beat us and we gave up. I actually feel better about some of the games later this year. I feel like 7-8 wins is doable. Am I satisfied? NO. Am I happy? NO. But we have to be real. We can either whine and moan about the rest of the season, or trust that they will coach them up for next week. I choose to believe they will be a better team next week.

I never said he was a failure. Nice assumption though. Just really frustrated. And I'm sorry that I decided to make an account for FREE on a website on which I could post for FREE, that says nothing of AGE. What a crime...

The team proved tonight that we have good talent to play with good teams, we just don't have the depth to hang with them. I'm actually surprised how well we played them in the first half. This team will be fine. If you want to play the blame game, I guess you can blame the AD for the Kiffin hire. Switching from Fulmer to Kiffin to Dooley killed any chance of having any depth.

Actually he may have cost us the game. He took the game out of Poole's hands who was getting yards and put it into Simms hands who couldn't hit the broad side of a barn. We we're doing just fine until the interception and CDD went pass happy.

I saw a lot of things I was excited about. What made me sick is watching this team give up like they did. But Simms needs to step up and be the leader he claims to be or he will have a long year.

My thoughts exactly. I really felt like there were finally some things to build on, UNTIL I saw the players quit in the 4th quarter.

It will be interesting to see how they come out against Florida next week. Win or lose, I want to see the team compete for four quarters.

Anyhow, get through next week, play hard against UAB and we would be 2-2, which is about what we could have realistically hoped for. One saving grace is that very few of the remaining teams on our schedule have overwhelming offenses like we saw tonight, so we should be abe to stay more competitve.

Dude, they were stating to stop the run. Throwing the ball is what got us in position until Simms threw the pick. I can't blame the coaches for trying to win the game by opening the playbook.

Then next time your frustrated yound man, learn a lesson and shut your mouth. Dooley is proving to be an excellent coach, building a classy program and all of you "fans" that want to bad mouth Dooley, and say our young players suck after missing one play send your little text messages between each other or whatever you youngsters do, or find something worth adding to a conversation of grown ups.

The only real pass he completed was the one to Hunter weare he jumped about 8 feet into the air. The guy sucks. He is better than Crompton but he sucks. If we had of settle for a field goal there it would have cut the lead to 4 and ledft the game close instead it blew it wide open and our young team imploded.

We played well for a half. Then Oregon showed why they are a top 10 school. This team is about at the level of the third year of Johnny Majors tenure. I remeber we got up on Alabama 17-0 and lost it in the 4th quarter. It still offered a glimmer of hope which happened in those next couple of years. There was a glimmer of hope in the first half tonight. Better days are coming. If we keep improving and build our depth we can be contending seriously in 3 years.

The first half was called well. The second half was not. It's true. We are not a throwing team right now. Even more so with our main WR out. Simms also has no control.
